I've done my best to remember the larger sets that I have in my collection in my mom's basement. I just spoke to her and she still has everything. Now everything I have is in a giant tub and is a mess likely with a few missing pieces. But I have all these sets and dozens of other small sets I can't remember in these genres. I had tons of pirate stuff. I know with the western genre I would buy tons of the same small minifig sets because my friend and I would create civil war scenes. I had TONS of the smaller castle sets and built enormous castles and armies as well.

Some nice treasures in there.

Of course you know all the pirates and castle stuff is classic Lego at it's best.

The Western sets are awesome as well. I just recently got Fort Legoredo. Very big set and highly underrated in my opinion.

Yes it was my favorite set a long with the Red Beard Runner. I always wish I had the western town buildings to go with the fort, but I often found myself building my own towns in my various cowboy and Indians and civil war reenactments.

I've been trying to make this thing look less ridiculous (at one point it was steam driven with a 6 brick high smoke stack) but toning it down just made it look more like something the 3rd reich would roll. Adding the staff car flag makes it look more sinister than it did with a supercharger cowl and 5 brick high exhaust stacks.

Yeah totally. The large sets are a bit more expensive, but still very affordable. I paid about 120€ for the Fort with with box and manual and it was in very good condition. You can pick up most of the smaller sets for anywhere between 20-50€.

Maybe it's just because Lego is so extremely expensive nowadays, but these seem very reasonable prices to me.

I've started collecting some of my favorite sets from the 90's. Castle and Pirates are quite a bit more expensive due to the larger fan base, but still alright if you compare it to the price of a modular building or a UCS.

Okay for current sets to make Luke's different outfits would be Achtu Training with his light robes (When he meets Rey, when he burns the tree, and when he channels the projection).

For his dark outfit, get the Darth Vader Resurrection set and use Sheev's body I guess.

For his projection vs Kylo Ren and Killing Ben in his sleep flashback I would go with Luke's Landspeeder to get Kenobi's robes.

Neat! I've actually got (most of) that old Jabba sail barge from buying someone else's collection that also included most of the Airbender boat monstrosity (but sadly only parts of the minifigs).

I'll have to see if it still includes those hinges, though sadly they aren't in black.

I like them all except for that kendo guy, it just doesnt fit for me, but others are pretty good, seductress especially and guy with a hook, he reminds me a little of bo rai chi from mortal combat, and knights kongdom helmet guy is cool aswell

That's a brick from the 70's. I first started with those way back in the day. Sets were VERY basic and had those huge people. Still got those sets too.

Now... I've got quite a few of them from buying out lots. I just put them aside. Their color and properties are so different then the stuff we have today.

Some progress on the Dragon's Fortress revamp I've been working on. I'm pretty happy with how the roof tiling looks on the building. Props to the Ninjago City designers for that roofing technique. Though I'm not sure about the red horns. They seem like a bit of an overkill, but I'll just keep them there for now.

Maybe make the ramp a bit thinner.
It looks like when it's down flat, it would sit beneath the bottom of the craft, meaning that it wouldn't be able to sit flat.

Head and hair are from the cmf fairy girl, though I have erased so,e printing on both pieces, the body is from the battlesuit lance, the cape is from the car retro space guy and the shield is from the cmf elf. I have come across an opportunity to buy a complete Simpsons house from someone a couple suburbs over from me for $250 Ausbucks (complete sans the box, at least). For context, it had an RRP of $330 here.
Should I pull the trigger, /lg/? I'm a huge Simpsons fan and still watch seasons 1 - 12 regularly to this day, so this set is definitely tempting and it seems like a reasonable price. I was at a Lego convention the other day and stalls were trying to sell it for $350 - $400.
It would become my biggest set, beating out the Destiny's Bounty.
Has anyone here got it? Any insight would be appreciated.

You're getting it for almost $100 off and it's from a series you like.
I'd say if you can afford it, go for it.

The only real issue I've ever had with the set is that the minifigs looked stoned. But other then that it looks like a decent enough set.

I just pull out my favorite set of safety scissors. If it's too thick for one cut, try chipping away at it with several smaller cuts. You can't mess it up because you can always buy another hood.

The Rupaul thing just irks me. Like the Nasa set, okay. Those women accomplished tgings of merit. Scientific/politcal figures throughout history getting minifigs is one thing. Drag queens who are only famous for being drag queens getting a set dedicated to them is fucking overkill. I hope it's rejected. Obviously Lego would choose to produce a set based on the most bland #1 show on network (badonkadonk) vs. choosing to produce a set based on a highly divisive personality that would add unnecessary drama to their family-friendly image. I don't mind Brickarms and custom tiles. I just agree that the weird indented hips on those torsos look fucking awful (and I think the prints are low quality and poorly designed too). If either of these will come back it'll be as something halfway between the mid-2000s fantasy Castle and NK/Ninjago, the short regular Pirates and Castle lines we got recently were pretty unpopular (and not very good all around), and civilians that were the draw in the Kingdoms theme from relatively recently would just end up as CMFs today. I'd say pirates are more likely due to the Ninjago pirate sets from 2016 selling well. What's absolutely impossible is western coming back since neither the 90s version nor Lone Ranger were popular.

It's one plate shorter than the current one, so exactly as tall as normal minifig legs. We've only seen it on some leaked SW dude so far so it's hard to tell if it's going to be a permanent replacement or just something made for this specific figure - they never reused the long arms and legs from Toy Story, for example, and fabric skirts from CMF didn't replace the skirt piece altogether either.

I just got back into legos. I picked up Kylo's starfighter. I was so impressed with it that I got the Resistance Bomber. I wish there were better themes, but until there are either pirates, western, or castle again, I don't see any other themes I like. I collected in the 90s and that was what I was into. Only other thing I think I might like is Big Ben or something.

Even if you like licenseshit, I don't get the appeal of the $800 falcon. It's an oversized hunk of grey bricks - it's basically dick waving since all it does it sit on your shelf looking BIG but without anything interesting going for it.
If you're into older themes you can buy the sets on bricklink. Some of them will cost a lot but others are reasonably priced. Obviously you can always build your own stuff too.

This anon is correct and they won't be able to send you a new BC head. Instead, they'll probably tell you that they can send you a free CMF bag from that wave.

Still, it won't hurt to call (with a phone, not email) them and ask them if they CAN replace the head. They might have changed how their system works since 2016.

I think that's what it is, yeah. When I got my Zombie Businessman, his briefcase broke immediately. I called Lego and they told me that they couldn't send out parts from the CMFs; they could only send me a replacement random CMF. I was able to get my briefcase replaced because that part was also in another set that was in current distribution, so the rep revised my call to say that I needed a replacement from THAT set, not the CMF.

Alternatively, it could be just their policy so they don't have a bunch of AFOLs calling and demanding rare pieces because they don't want to grope bags. But I think it's probably that the CMFs come prepackaged from China.

That could be it, too, though at the same time the QA on the CMFs seems a lot more haphazard which could naturally increase volume of calls for replacements. I've seen quite a few misprints posted online, but the only ones I've personally experienced have been very minor. For instance faces printed a bit too low on the head so they don't look right wearing helmets or other accessories, things I've confirmed where I have duplicate figs. Sometimes the dual printing on heads isn't aligned properly so if one is in the six o'clock position the other is in the 9 or 10 o'clock instead of in the 12.

I've got a dozen briefcases and some of them are decades old and still work fine. Looking back on it, the objectively better decision would have been to ask for the free CMF bag, but I was just shocked and pissed that the material was so shoddy that it broke right away, and I wanted Lego to pay for the replacement instead of getting one for 20 cents on cracklink because I couldn't believe the quality had gone downhill so far.

The new one seems to be fine so maybe it really was just a fluke.

The main point is that out of the twelve superheroes from Civil War, Ant-Man is the only one not included as a minifigure in the Civil War sets. Then again, he's both a microfig and a hugefig in the Airport Battle, so maybe not.

It was released in a set that was relatively rare.
Also, Ant-Man's costume in Civil War was different to his solo movie costume (Pic related). The buildable Giant Ant-Man from the Airport set (as well as the nanofig version) were based on this CW suit, where as the Ant-Man from the solo movie set was based on the suit in the movie.

Just gonna throw this idea out there.
You know how they do Battle Packs for Star Wars? Well why not Battle Packs for Superheroes?

So for Marvel you get packs like a SHIELD pack featuring a couple of SHIELD guys like the ones from the Carnage set, a Special Agent (Guy in a suit) and a Pilot.
Or a Hydra pack with Hydra goons. A Hand pack with ninja's. Maby a Kree pack opposite a Skrull pack. Maby even a Nova Corps. pack with a Ravagers pack counterpart.

As for DC, well how about Lantern Battle Packs?
So like a Green Lantern Battle Pack with Guy Gardner, Sodam Yat and a couple of other Lanterns.
Then do the same for the Sinestro Corps, the Blue Lanterns, the Red Lanterns, the Star Sapphires and the rest of the Lantern groups.

That doesn't seem likely given the two movies were about a year apart. Still for what it is worth they DID reuse the silver suit for the fig in the CA:CW Lego set, but the giant version wore the updated costume. Not that there was that much difference.

Still I did like them including old Pym in a suit, even if that didn't happen in the flick.

My cmf zombie breifcase broke instantly too, i took your advice and got a second one from one of their sets via customer service. Never dared to open it more than once after that.

I love the nose anon, i was considering using it upside down for one of my buggys recently. I'd make the side of the hood just white though.
My suggestion would be to try and lower it a plate by raising the tires into the body becuase of two reasons. Firstly because of scale and secondly because of the curves above the headlights. The shaping now starts very curved and then suddenly has a hard edged straight slope, and then a 90 degree angle. If you can expirement to make that curve above the headlight a bit higher and just one continuous rounded curve (wich then allows more space for the wheel to raise) it would look much better.
I also think you have space to add some mirrors if you want.

I see plenty of 60 dollar sets "shelf warming", otherwise known as actually being available on the fucking shelf. Same with cheaper sets and more expensive ones. Personally I think the set is a weird design choice given none of those characters would really need a super battle car, but it is what it is. I also don't like plenty of Nexo designs but the kids seem to dig vehicleshit so there we are.

I've gotten into Lego after 10+ years and like every other ((AFOL)) I'm very fascinated by the the modular buildings and their standard.
I got the bulldozer bank robbery set from a clearance sale and used that as a basis to practice the modular concept. Aside from that set I have very limited selection of bricks at the place I currently live in, so I was constantly running short. My finger shows where I ran out of green slopes.

Castle and Pirates sets are the most popular and real lego sets. When your only option is star wars, capeship, ninjas, and futuristic weird knights, it's pretty lame. City is the only theme that somewhat resembles lego roots, but there should always be pirates or castle at least as well.

It is strict since my family is trying their best to sneak the kids in my room so that they can play with my stuff. They just can't simply take no for an answer and are too dumb to think of the possible consequences. Many times I told them something would fuck up if they let the kids loose (not my Lego collection, I still am able to protect that) and it did fuck up. get a good sized bag of brussels sprouts; prepare them by cutting off the bottom and peeling off the outermost leaves

preheat oven to 400 burgerland Fahrenheit degrees

cover a cookie sheet in aluminum foil

smear that in oil

sprinkle that with coarse salt

cut the sprouts in half and place on sheet

sprinkle them with more oil otherwise they come out a little too dry

Bake 20 minutes.

Pull out and sprinkle a handful of sliced almonds on top

Bake 5 minutes more, or until the sprouts are nice and soft

Let them cool a little bit, and eat!

Good luck with that anon, I manged to find a shop on aliexpress that did decent enough helmets on knock off minifigs for like £1 each, should have bought more, the bodies were utter crap but the helmets had a decent enough print and cast quality.

My advice would be to slowly buy them up in ebay/bricklink sales as you find them, they'll be more expensive than you want to pay most likely, but you can always flip any sets they come in as "without minifigs"
