So Three A annouced more TF figures soon awhile back. What does /toy/ think of three A? What other cool shit have they announced besides TF?

I could give a fuck about vehicle form, if I wanted to see an F22 on my shelf I'd get a model set and to me personally bayformers<cartoon versions. The cartoon adaptations had their time but with CGI now it makes them look laughable when compared to the menacing live action version.

Are you trying to argue that the blocky cartoon adaptations are some brilliant depiction of the peak of robotic technology? The bayformers Decepticons are evil and menacing in that they don't just look like a different colored blocky megaman with a different logo like in the cartoons.

I own this as far as the Three A TF stuff goes. Proabblyt he only one I will, because ultimately I just don't care enough for most of the movie designs to commit that much money and , especially, space, to them. At 2/3rds the cost and 12'' scale I'd be more willing to bite.
I was heavily considering the regular DOTM Optimus, but it came down to me just wanting the one, and I liked the rustbucket look of the AOE Evasion mode more. Toned down with the flamesand uniquely movie color layout faded away, it makes a nice general Mad Max-esque Optimus.

The G1 based figures have been disappointing, imo. Instead of doing actual ashley wood redesigns of the Transformers, they did a vaguely 80's anime style, but with a weathered look, that looks clashing to me.

Other than that, I own some other stuff, like that 3A zaku without the monoeye that a lot of people hate, but I love the rest of the design, and some 3A Dredds tuff.

I was hoping we'd get more like pic related, from about 10 years back when Wood did some tF covers. Stylized, blcoky, kinda creepy versions of classic TF characters. If we're getting 3A G1 Transformers, I want the ashley wood touch, you know?

Right now, there's such a glut of G1 figures stuff like that really needs to stick out. There's a Hot toys Optimus among almost half a dozen non-transforming Optimus in large scale , including 3As, but the best value right now is MAS-01 Optimus.

Agree with you, if you want them to transform there are so many iterations of the characters 3A picked. Their TLK Megatron is up next but I really don't like his design so I'm on the fence. Same with Barricade, I really didn't like his design compared to his old one.

I get all the Bayformers stuff but not the G1. I only got the White Optimus G1 because it works with the colors. The typical Red Optimus looks awful in that design. Their G1 line really was a disaster.

I've never really liked their original stuff beyond Evenfall, but then they went and killed it by focusing on that one bot over and over. I do love my entire Civic Defense set thiugh. Wish they'd do more stuff like that.

I;m arguing Bay's shit is ugly and wouldn't work as real machines, they're just "high parts count" so some ILM asshole can pat himself on the back for rendering it.

ILM people even said "G1 is crap", you know, because the people who gave us the SW prequels really know what "good" looks like.

I can't tell if the line is fucked because Ash is so incompetent or Hasbro said his designs started getting too far away and mae them look to "normal". But they knew what they would be getting with 3A not doing straight up licensed designs.

Either way, they just don't cut it. They're too close to being a normal upscaled TF.

If I want a near perfect cartoon g1 Megs and don't care about transforming it, I'd just get the official MP. 3Ps have done a couple cool Megatrons, to MAS has a chunky Megatron for nearly $100 less.This is a disappointment, cause Woods did a cool creepy Megatron

I remember seeing a mock up of a weird Optimus on a desk during a 3Z studio gallery thing. Someone uploaded a bunch of pictures of them working on the stuff and there were Titans, TMNT, GOT, and there was this Optimus that looked abhorrent it had some stupid asian muschatche from what I remember and a bigass axe or something.

Its not concept art, its after-the-fact redesigns of the TF movie stuff never considered for the movies themselves. Josh Nizzi was hired for the second movie onward because of his Long Haul design.

They are dropping several of their licenced lines (though they are keeping Transformers) to focus on their own properties like WWR. And apparently the best way to do that is to have every fucking item on their webstore that isn't licenced as a 3AA club exclusive.

That's right, you have to buy Mr. Skelly here for $200 USD if you want to buy ANYTHING else of their original stuff for the entire year (barring some BBTS exclusives and such).
