Finally built him.

The reviews weren't wrong, assembling and installing the neck/collar piece was an absolute nightmare, I still don't have all the ports connected but it's pretty solid as is.

I tried adding some wash/weathering last night but ended up wiping it all off cause I'm a pussy and can't commit to a specific look.

I'm just glad to have a 1/12 Grievous. I'm expecting the Figuarts to be too short or have some sort of gimped articulation because of the 2/4 arm gimmick.

haven't done a Stormtrooper, but the Clonetroopers were nice and easy to assemble. Took a while on my first one due to my first ever attempt at a model kit. Once I knew what pieces go where and what runners have what, I knocked out my 2nd one pretty fast.

Plus the instructions are pretty straightforward.

I don't have that rey, but I've tried to heat and pop jaina's head and it's sort of a nightmare. The neck gets soft way faster than any other plastic I've seen and the disc wants to pop out before the head does.

I think you are wrong about your whole set up. I'm sorry, I think a lot of old school Star Wars fans liked Rogue One. I know I sure as hell did.

I personally don't collect pops and crap like that. So I don't think it's a fair measurement to base the character on. I do not own a single figure of Jyn Erso.. Why? The Black Series more often than not, makes horrible faces of human type characters.

Guess how many " human " figures I have from the Black Series? One. That would be Thrawn.

just got done doing a bandai k-2so and i think his stickers are way harder than the shoretrooper which looks to be more flat surfaces unlike k-s2o which had 4 round stickers and even then it wasnt that hard so i wouldnt worry too much about painting if you cant since i think the decals will do fine.

So I was thinking about how all TLJ toys are tanking and wondering if there was any fast food promo toys for the movie and I had an idea:

It would have to be McDonald's since Star Wars is Disney and Disney has had a Happy Meal toy partnership with them since at least the 90's, if not the 80's. The best toy promotions any of these companies ever did were the Power Rangers Movie ones from McDonald's back in 95 (I still have the whole set) and the Burger King Pokemon one around the time the first movie came out.

For a model kit he's actually pretty good.
His weakest articulation points are probably the ankles and neck.
He can still pull off most of the stuff I want him to. Haven't attempted spider mode yet though :^)

One thing I forgot to mention is he doesn't come with gripping hands for the regular arms, he can still hold the lightsabers with his relaxed hands but it's obviously not a tight grip so they fall out pretty easily if you touch them.

And no uncivilised blaster, which is a shame.

I need a good 6-9 inch long model or toy star destroyer style imperial ship to customize into a pirate's command vessel, what is there I can do? it's be nice to have it in a few pieces to paint easier, but I have been able to customize the X-wing style miniatures, I just want it to look like it's a proper star destroyer, not just a toy, so it needs enough detail.

It might be too big, but the Revell model from rogue one is very good. Great detail and it's basically a slab for the bottom and tops of the wedge, and another two or so for each part of the bridge section. it's about 13 inches long though.

Does anyone else here really not care too much about the Star Wars narrative but finds the design and aesthetic of the universe appealing? I first saw the films as an adult and thought they were lacking, but I find The Empire, Stormtroopers, Boba Fett, etc. excellent. That's also why I prefer the comics to the movies, finally a place where the empire is allowed to be just a bit heroic. There are many stand-alone stories so I would recommend you to look up the Star Wars: Empire series on Wookiepedia and try something out based on the characters you like. I wish more star wars media did this. Empire aesthetic is top notch. For example I just got around to playing battlefield 2 today and i was hyped for the campaign. Playing as an imperial special forces agent seemed amazing until the campaign does a 180 and the MC despite being a die hard imp she defects to the rebellion complete with a “right side of history” quote. I recently got this Chinese Boba Fett and have been working to make him look a little nicer. I've done a dark wash, added more realistic paint chipping, painted in details, and dyed his cape a more orange colour like on the real black series. Any other suggestions on what I can do with him?

yep you can choose to put the mask on but I wouldn't in case if I scratch his face because his scar is ACTUALLY film accurate compared to the regular Black Series release where you could hardly freakin see it so I'd rather purchase a cheap standalone black series unmasked of Kylo.

Ibmmt on eBay is selling that exact Jaina repaint. He does good repaints and puts a variety of stuff up pretty often.

Camarodude1967 does pretty good ones, too, but he's more hit or miss on certain heads. He did a great job on this Thrawn repaint and he'll do little adjustments, too, that you request. Cool dude to work with. He gave my Thrawn solid red eyes on request to fit the EU look more.

Correct, Disney only works with subway now for kids meal stuff. And subway spends a fraction of what the fast food Giants do on they kids meal offerings. You get a special designed small hand bag the meal comes in and some really cheap trinket. Something like bracelets or flat rubber keychains. Closest thing to an actual toy I recall seeing where those little coconut guys from Moana. Never did anything like it since to my knowledge.

It has happened numerous times in the past with similar polls. The old nostalgia fags often don't care as much for whatever the poll is advertising in the first place so they ignore. Shinglehead showed up early, and he's legit. I'm thinking the factory reject thing is right, he had a frozen waist joint, but that was easily fixed with 30 seconds of heat. Very happy with him for retail price.

Were the regular guards doublepacked? I kinda want to pick up another to swap the cloth goods lower half, but only if they shelfwarm down to like $10.

Yup. His head is a bit larger than others and they reused the skinny arms from the first figure.
He should be taller too, but the Figuarts line has a scale problem where it's usually just general tall, average and short heights. They don't really try for accuracy.

Is the Black Series fine if I wanted to get masked characters like Stormtroopers? I was looking for something that would look nice whether I actually opened it or not to use as a decoration, but I saw the Kylo Ren Black Series that was without a mask and man Adam Driver looks even dumber in plastic toy form. Figma is a bit too pricy for Star Wars stuff, I'd rather invest in weeb shit if I'm buying from them.

Working on a Infernal Squad Del Meeko.

I found a Deathtrooper/Jyn/Cass 3 pack at Goodwill for 9 bucks.

I took the pouches off the Deathtrooper and cut it up to look like straps.

Anyone know what figure I can buy to get Del's heavy Rifle?

Looking good Anon. Del had a DLT-19x sniper config. All the sandtroopers and i think some stormtroopers come with a dlt-19. Definitely the sandtroopers do. I kind of forget what accessories come with other figures but sandtroopers arent the only one. To get the dlt-19x you would just have to do some minor mods like cutting off the tripod arms and the underside of the barrel and kitbash a scope. I would go with a scope from a little armory kit imo. But you could do fine with a dollar store type of army guy with guns.

Same guy, this is the gun youre looking for in the bottom left side. It looks like maybe some stormtroopers come with it but i cant be assed to find which wave so you might have to do a little digging to find out which other figures come with a dlt-19. Most troopers just come with that other pulse cannon rifle. If you dont have one already the cheapest way you could get one I bet is snagging the sandtrooper with the white pauldron that came with the EE imperial 4 pack as i think that one doesnt go for much more than $20. The older sandtroopers are much more expensive.

Kenobi is a persistent rumor because people like him and they have to do something since McGregor is practically the only actor from 1-6 who can still be utilized in a spin-off without feeling too forced. Boba Fett movie was supposed to come instead of Solo once but Solo got pushed up because Trank the hack had a breakdown and they couldn't find a replacement in time and that's basically as far as all rumors go. I assume Lucasfilm doesn't plan further than the 2020 movie since they are still scrambling to write a good 9 for december 2019 instead of filming it for the summer 2019 release that corporations worship like a god.
The last few lines of the dude were overdone. I still have some confidence that they won't put Vader in a movie like Solo and the Tydirium was a random shuttle the rebels stole in ROTJ, not Vaders personal craft.

Picked up the TRU exclusive Jedi training Rey with the Crait base. Gotta say I really like her. Havent seen the standard version to compare but the upgraded cloth outfit looks really nice and fits really well. Doesnt look out of scale or mishapen and baggy. The face print tech seemed to be a mixed bag. My Tru had 10 and I would say 8 had way too much red in the face and looked like she got sunburned. Luckily I found one with very good face and non derpy eyes. The crait base is shit and would have preferred something from Achto you know where she was actually training. Otherwise reccomended.

Oh and I forgot the best part her blaster and hilt are diecast metal and they have a nice weight to them. Definitely feel great a nice upgrade from the usual gummy plastic. For some reason theres the metal hilt and a second one with the blade on thats all plastic one peice, the blade doesnt peg in. Weird choice, would have been better to be able to peg in the blade into the metal hilt like how it is on almost all the other black series.

Yeah, vest from Jyn and trimmed off the green bits and gave it a quick black wash.

It's a little loose, but angle it right and it's fine. I have a spare saber for her, though, so I might just glue it.
