>>6753334It's funny because there's two elements at work here that prevent Kinder Surprise from being sold here legally (the Utah stuff is weird, but good on ya dude for your access): the old-ass 1930s law against inedible items embedded in food, but also the fact that Kinder is too stubborn to change anything about their process. The reason we get other chocolate surprise balls, eggs, etc. is that they make adjustments so that the chocolate isn't actually encasing the toy/capsule. Yowies have a lip of plastic around the capsule, others leave a gap so the chocolate halves don't touch, and hilariously this Mexican company sells the chocolate egg sealed, packs the capsule separately, and sells them in small boxes.
If Kinder had made any kind of changes in the past thirty years or whatever, this wouldn't even be a problem, but oh well! They settled on something that doesn't compromise their product and finally have retail presence here.
