That's a pretty impressive set for someone's first lego. Do you remember how old you were when you got that, anon?

My first set was Riptide Racer in 96, I was three years old back then.

Anyone have any experience getting a bag replaced by Lego?
I was building a set earlier and noticed there was enough smaller pieces missing which led me to believe I'm missing an unnumbered bag within a numbered bag.
I'm thinking I'll just have to go through the rest of the instructions and pick the missing pieces from the site individually.

I got it second hand from an older cousin when I was 6 or 7 in a big mix of Lego. I immediately put it together when I saw the instructions.

I use to love those boats. I had this one and was amazed it actually floated.

I don't know if you can still do this, but at the time my mom would stop by every week or so and check to see if any new bionicles came out for the happy meals. She got me the whole collection.

We were only allowed Mcdonalds once a month.

Lego hasn't done any cyberpunk sets except for maybe Ninjago city. They've never done a cuberpink line.

consider the last time it's been hard to get leaks for the images of the current wave sets, i guess for some reasons they're hard to leak.
but i'm worried also because there's no "villains book" this year, while we've had one for lava monsters and one for stone monsters. I would have liked at least one wave with current enemies and then i'd agree to let the story end

This is the first Lego set I can remember getting. I must have been only 5 years old I think, and I got it as a present from my Uncle. I still have the parts somewhere in a huge tub of old lego.

The line was cancelled prematurely due to dwindling sales with the current wave being the last one.

I'm kinda surprised that nexo knights never got a volton. That theme is basically power rangers without zords. Each knight has an animal mascot, just make some goddamn zords instead of these stupid vehicles. It would be a perfect opportunity to make the giant brick built minifig versions of the named baddies.

I still can't believe they made a theme centered around knights and monsters and the main point of conflict is essentially car chases. The one thing that differentiated this line from ninjago was the actual built up monsters like the infernox set in the first year.

I can't remember shit from when I was little (too long ago) but this is the oldest Lego set I remember having. Sadly it was lost at sea (or tub) long ago. I do remember the winch being salvaged from the ships destruction and being a part of many lego builds over the course of the next decade

I'm pretty sure this was my first set. Can't remember if my grandparents or my mom got it for me. 1990, I would have been about 3 going on 4. Though I might have gotten it in 91, I would have been 4 going on 5 which makes more sense. Don't know how long Lego lasted on shelves back then. Seems like sets stuck around a lot longer then they do now.

My parents were very adamant about saving for their house/cars/Whatever so my brother and I would always get these small sets. Another one I had was the 4 ninja/samurai set from the same line. Despite only getting these small sets, they were some of my favourites

I realized a few months ago that most of my Blacktrons came from those packs. I only had one Blacktron set and one SP1 set that came with a Blacktron prisoner but somehow I have at least half a dozen of them.

I actually lived the dream you're gunning for as it happened. I was also a young teen at the time and saved all my allowance money and bought every set that was available in the US. I even set them all up on the floor of my room and had one huge battle the New Year's Eve before the year the theme was kill (2009?) Good times then.

All I know is that thanks to Bionicle I developed a lot of my current interests, including LEGO, so it's not an overstatement to say they've had a significant impact in my life.

I haven't got the faintest clue really, I was probably something like 3 or 4 at the time, and that's starting to be a while ago. Just looking through old catalogues for something and this thing has an oddly familiar feeling to it. Did I have it? Did a friend have it? Probably not kindergarten at least, it'd have been nothing but loose pieces in that case. Or maybe one of the Basic sets, I know I got some of that too at some point.

Nothing really left sitting around, though a good amount of it may come back into the closer family in a few years since my sister's about to have a kid.

Not super big on Nexo stuff that isn’t Not-Blacktron but I’m a sucker for mechs, especially these Russian nesting doll types. Reminds me of the Godaikin Gardian or whatever that bot is called. Buildings - Jesus Christ, buildings.
There were pretty much only three and a half buildings (okay, four and a half if you count Fortrex) in the entire line which is just ridiculous for what was supposed to be a mix of castle and action theme and having maybe one or two civilian sets that get pillaged by the bad guys would've not only added some much needed world building but also set it apart from Ninjago.
Also, your entire second wave was about ruins and you have NOT A SINGLE GODDAMN RUIN in your entire wave outside of some retailer-exclusive set? Are you fucking shitting me?!

Don't do it. It's so outdated and is only for the most hardcore of collectors. These ships are poorly made compared to today. The big hull pieces are a thing of the past. Modern lego builders build their own hulls with smaller pieces.

I'm not crazy about the bigger mech's design either, I think they cut some corners to get the set price down, but the 'hands' are very easily mod-able since it's just a pin/axle connection.

I wish they did a modular mech line for each knight with standardized base builds so you could mix and match arms, legs, and weapons. A larger version of the battle suits with more detail.

I don't exactly remember the first set I ever owned, but I do remember the first set I ever saved grass mowing money to buy. My Legos were always hand-me-downs, and even owning a single Legoman seemed like a rich kid thing when I was young. It's the only complete series I ever had as a kid. The big carrier was missing a 1x14 (ish)brick that I never got a replacement for but this was the only time I've gotten a set with missing parts.

I had to pretend I didn't like lefo from like 12-18, but then I stopped caring and started collecting casually. Few MOCs, but I'm working on changing that.

My childhood lego have successfully been transferred to my house. I'm putting the minifigures back together the best I can. He's not THAT bad or anything but a lot of his designs are rather mundane in terms of design techniques and aesthetics and his mechs have a severe lack of knees.

For reference, the Nexo Knights Black Knight Mech was first designed by him and later Junya Suzuki took his sketches and designed the vastly superior King's Mech.
Due to some release schedule meddling the King's Mech got released first and people were bummed out that the BKM that came out later was multiple steps back.

Either way nexo knights was a castle theme. AFOLs see it as space because we 'know' what a castle theme is and we 'know' what a space theme is and this is definitely space. Kids never had a classic castle theme because castle hasn't sold the last few times lego tried. They made a TV show that really hammered home the point that it was castle. They used non-castle colors to appeal to kids. They 'ninjago-ized' it. This was their best attempt to make castle appeal to kids. I'm sorry if you're butthurt over the theme. I personally liked it. Don't think that castle is coming back, or that bionicle could come back because lego will somehow force kids to like it. They obviously tried with nexo knights and they will go with whatever theme will stand on it's own now that they've used a bunch of money on a TV show and app to promote nexo knights and didn't meet expected results. Don't be surprised if they don't 'replace' it with anything. Kids are buying less toys, toys-r-us is closing stores. You aren't going to see them take chances on all these niche themes, especially AFOL wet dream nostalgia throwbacks.

Find someone on Bricklink who's selling the complete set. That's the quickest way.

There are a few other ways but they're more complicated and you'll probably have to buy from multiple stores.

desu capital ships are so out of scale with the other vehicles that it was kind of hard to play with them in conjunction if you were one of the kids bothered by that.

I do remember playing a lot more with the imperial troop shuttle once I got that, and the republic gunship does seem to have a ton more features.

Only the limited and special edition are rare,boxed complete sets are also a bit uncommon which what I only look for.Price wise there are fags who think because its an old and retired theme they expect to profit from selling and there are people who sell for an ok price.I use ebay brick link is mostly US.

I can agree a lot of the new minifigs tend to look too busy. Almost every Marvel movie minifig has too much going on, the Iron Man from the Justin Hammer set looks infinitely better than the movie ones, it's just too much printing for such a small body.
My other issue is with Star Wars minifigures, I kinda miss the less detailed Boba Fett/Stormtrooper/Vader helmets. It perfectly fit with the minimalism of the standard minifigure body. Now they just keep upping the level of detail on the helmets to the point it looks like someone ripped the head from a hasbro figure and threw it on a Lego body. Something about it seems off.
I do think a fair amount of Ninjago minifigs and themes like Ultra Agents and Space Police III really got it right.

Also a like 3 Piraka Bionicles that have unfortunately suffered a few too many dog chews to be put together anymore.

I disagree. The model details surpassed the minifig prints and they needed an update. Sure there are some things that I disagree with like the move away from yellow skin. Sure some of the prints are a little bit obnoxious. However, nothing is stopping you from customizing our minifigs.

So I got one of those black VIP cards in the mail the other day... even though I didn't buy that UCS Falcon it's tied to. Maybe they had enough left over that they're just mailing them away at this point, but it's still weird.

I would say the Resistance Bomber, Kylo's Tie Silencer, and Poe's X-Wing if you can find. However, all the star wars sets are pretty over priced and the builds are not really that fun to build. Star Wars models look really good when they come together but the pieces are extremely bland to me.

Just got done building this thing, and it's great. I was never really into blacktron or whatever but it certainly feels like it could easily fit in with that theme. Lots of neat parts and certainly looks cool, sort of reminds me of the Hornets from halo, and the minifigs are awesome too (despite the little mishap with macy's helmet earlier)

Haven't been keeping up with news, but is NK due to die after these sets? If so, that's a shame, seeing as these are the most interesting sets, at least to me, anyway.

It's not SUPPOSED to be, but that is how everyone else's looks. That specific minifig has received many negative reviews for how shitty the face printing looks.

small update thanks to bricklink.
Still collecting parts for Diane and MFAP/The Arm. Eventually i'll make the curtains entirely studless either with tiles or panels.

For total accuracy, techincally the floor pattern should be rotated by 45°. it's doable but a bit elaborate, and requires more pieces. Since the Lodge appeared in a few different forms in season 3 (different statue/chair/lamps/tables combinations) i'm ok with the floor not being 100% accurate.

I would say that unless they are small cheap sets like say a minifig pack for example, a lot of people don't buy multiple sets unless they are for resell.

So I got the Black Knight mech after hearing it was good... then I got home and realized I got it mixed up with Kings Mech and suddenly it makes a lot more sense. It’s not bad - torsos decent and the legs are great, as is the kickass sword, but those arms are horrible, and while the torsos solid its kinda bland and the shoulder joints are too inward, I may just disassemble the arms and see if I can build anything better from them

Somewhat regularly actually.

I've bought like 7 of those creator dinosaurs.
I made one of each of the 3 builds, then had a go at free handing the apatosaurus, before I had a look at the instructions and found I wasn't too far off. Then built an ankylosaurus and pachycephalosaurus from scratch. Although the pachy was really just a t-rex with a new head.

Also bought a couple of Y-Wings.
First one I built up as per the instructions, then modded it a little. Second one I switched out the white and yellow for black and green (with orange highlights) to make it my own personal Y-Wing. Currently in the process of adding armor plating to it it. Once that's done I'll add armor plating to the first one as well.

The most recent multiple sets I bought was the Rathtar Escape set. Just before Christmas a store near me had a sale on Lego. The Rathtar sets were AU$99 each. Normally they're about AU$120~. With funds low, due to Christmas, I put a Destiny's Bounty and 3 Rathtar sets on layby.

Payed them off last week. Probably could have paid them off sooner, but whatever.
Then today I found another store with the Rathtar Escape sets on sale for AU$99, so I put another 5 on layby (so that I'm not dropping $500 in one go). I'm going to continue to keep an eye on their stock, because there was still like half a dozen left. Might grab another 2 in a few months time to take the total up to 10.

Now before you say

I did actually look into that.
I created a wish list and parted out/added most of the parts from the sets to it. I left out the parts for the Rathtars, as well as the minifigs.
The BL store with the most parts in Aus, was still like 20 bricks short of the full list and would cost like AU$85~, before postage.
Expand that to any store in the world that will ship to me and the store with the most parts was a Canadian store, that was still like 8 parts short. Before postage it was saying $300~...
Then there was a Portugal store, that was about 10 shy of the full list. Before postage... AU$500...
Yeah no.
Third down the list (also 10 shy of full list) was a US store, that was slightly more reasnable at AU$118 before postage.
Still no, because shipping would tear me a new asshole. The third and a fourth.
And all that is just the parts for ONE set.

So it's cheaper and easier to just get them on sale here.

Buying more than one set for the porpuse of keeping an original one and modding the other is also 100% valid. I hate the interior of some of the official LEGO sets, but I'd only feel comfortable modding a second set, and keeping one of the originals.

I use to think like that, but fucked me up badly.

Shit anon, sounds like you had a lot of troubles.

I am fairly sure i'm OCD too, but I've been a poorfag basically my whole life so i'm already used to just doing window shopping without actually buying anything, I can probably control myself. It's good advice for people who might not be able to do so tho.

If I ever had enough money to actually buy LEGO with any frequency I'd probably switch it around, and make the first set the play set and just keep the box for display until I could afford another one. Besides it's inevitable that you'll end up wanting more than 1 of some sets, particularly if you are army building.

And if anything you can always buy bootlego which is like infinitely cheaper.

My last set was about a year ago. I just compared these new Lego to some older sets I have and it seems to be the same quality. I guess having been away from Lego for a year and then coming back has made the drop in quality more obvious to me.

I'm saying this as someone who hates the CMF craze. Received one by chance during the holidays and its quality was SHIT. I think my Mega Bloks Dragon solider figs had better footholds and grasp-ability than that piece of junk.
