There are a few reasons for this like overall quality (the attention to detail in their show outfits was amazing), limited releases of certain characters certain runs, and a larger run in Europe overall.
Prices are going up as the original fanbase is now adult and can afford to collect and its been along time since Mattel's run ended.
Jakks Winx dolls really pale in comparison to the quality of the Mattel ones. I really treasure my mattel winx dolls, they are great to look at.
