Will we ever get a GOOD line of one piece action figures? VAH has proven itself to be utter garbage and a QC nightmare and nothing really needs to be said about the figuarts.

There's an infinite amount of statueshit but no worthwhile toys. I don't want to live in this timeline.

I keep saying Bandai needs to make Shodo figures (1/18) of One Piece. It's also the only real viable way to have all the characters be in scale with each other while not being absurdly large or expensive (probably outside of Giants or characters like Sanjuan Wolf). They could also finally get the whole crew done in articulated figure form for once.

The ships would have to be pretty damn big, and they would likely be absurdly expensive. But then they could always make it a big model kit (a Super Mini Pla maybe) for at least the Sunny Go.

Every VAH I have bought has been nearly flawless. Then again, I'm cherry picking, so my sample size is small. But in my mind there's nothing inherently wrong with VAH, there's just a lot of people that are upset that it's not in a scale they want, or a price range they can justify (understandable, given some of the low accessory counts), or both.

I've gotten two and they both had problems, maybe i got unlucky. My main problem with them, QC aside, is that the articulation isnt that great. I feel like they are 5+ years behind on figure engineering. They keep making mistakes that other companies have found solutions for years ago.

Shodo One Piece would be great. Especially since you can do wave 1 the East Blue 5, wave 2 the Grand Line additions, and then future waves you can easily weave in variants of the main cast to keep buys invested. The timeskip designs, the cover story designs, the alternate outfits throughout the show. This can mean you can do lesser but still popular characters like Vivi and Crocodile, while giving the more casualfan a Luffy or Zoro everywave.

Torsos and ankles are the only areas of articulation that I haven't liked so far on my VAH. Ankles especially, just so miserably underwhelming. I would gladly sacrifice superfluous toe joints for decent ankles.

I like this in CONCEPT, but I think it'd be a disaster in reality. The majority of Oda's people are very tall and skinny, and at Shodo size, this is going to mean two things: they won't balance very well, and they're going to be very fragile. Can you imagine a 3.75" Nami wobbling around on her stick thin mile-long legs with heels on? Or god forbid, Brook.

Brook is around 8' tall, he'd be a fairly large figure pushing at 5-6", and there are lots of 1/18 skeleton figures, so it'd be like those but taller. For the females, think something like Microman females or even Marvel Universe figures (just shrink the waist a bit, the busts on those are already fairly large), I think they'd manage. The Shodo VS figures also come with little stands, so she could get one too. I just feel like a Shodo line is definitely the best chance to finally complete the crew in an articulated form, as well as having a vast expanse of supporting characters.

I am actually a fan of the VAH figures. I think they do a great job capturing the likeness of the characters. VAH Zoro is one of my all time favorite figures.

I will say the earlier figures, like Luffy, are not at the same level as some of the later figures like Sanji and Usopp.

I really hoped they would make a Gear 4th luffy or something so I could replace the first Luffy I picked up.

If anyone is familiar with Shodo Ultraman, they sometimes have a 5th set (outside of the 4 characters of a series) that has accessories and little diorama pieces. That would be a good way to get those kinds of extra accessories for various characters.

Well, WHAT particular part of the line made it garbage for you? The sculpt? size? Or was it just the QC that put you off the first figure of the line?

In terms of sculpt, they look really good in my opinion. Comparable to some of the nicer looking statues even.

If size and price aren't a factor, and you're willing to possibly get burned again, the VAH line teamed up with the P.O.P line to makes the new V.A.H DX line. P.O.P level of sculpting and size but V.A.H poseability.

i have three VAHs. I got East Blue Luffy which is perfect, one of my nicest figures. East Blue Zoro is awful, he's incredibly stiff, it's almost like his legs are stuck together and not attached by a hip joint and his arm with his bandanna pops off every time I try and adjust his arm. I have Ace as well and he's the opposite, he's too flexible to the point he cant hold a pose, his limbs and torso are also constantly popping. I didn't mind the issues with the Ace figure, but the Zoro one disappointed me so much I cancelled all my other VAH orders, as I was originally going to buy the entire line.

He's pretty cool big imposing figure although one thing I don't understand is why they decided to have unsightly gaps between the fur lining and coat itself.

I also got mine a few weeks ago. It's not a defect, the coat is split into parts and each part is articulated. The thing is, the parts that connect to the "fur" section are cut like they can be flush with the fur, but it's not possible. It's just a gap no matter what. I would have preferred a coat that's just a solid hunk of plastic.
