Hasbro specifically stated that a new team at Paramount will reset the Transformers Live Action Movie Series following the release of Bumblebee: The Movie.

Sure enough, the company has removed Transformers 6 (sequel to Transformers: The Last Knight) from the upcoming list of movies. [Guess we are stuck with a cliffhanger, eh?]

Additionally, there is no Transformers Live Action Movie listed for the foreseeable future (2021). Whatever that may come, will only come (on or) after the aforementioned year.

Furthermore, the new agreement with Paramount will have Hasbro having greater control of the movies including greenlighting the movie projects. $100-$125 Million will be spent by Hasbro for Film and TV content in 2018.

Bumblebee: The Movie trailer or sizzle reel made its debut to the investors at the event. Unfortunately we were not able to see it.

Now? When in this entire millennium were they not? The only reason they had even a shred of success with modern figures is because of the 4H, and even then it was a clusterfuck due to ineptitude on almost all levels of management, production, and distribution.

Prime was the last of the middle ground toys. Simlpe enough for young fans but still enough engineering for some older fans. Hasbro just completely severed that line with RID and Generations. I mean Gen/Uni has been there all along but RID was specifically targeted towards 10 and under. Maybe in 15 years, RID characters will get a Generations style figure. I'm still hold out for a voyager Airachnid in a few years to go with my First Edition Arcee.

Personally, I think Prime Season 2 was the best Transformers cartoon yet. Parts of Season 3 were as good if not better, but the other parts were kind of shit. I haven't seen all of Animated, but what I saw was similar to other DJW shows.

Because BoA is even worse? I mean, their 4 inch toys were oversized and their 5 inch toys were undersized compared to other toylines that were 1/18th and 6 inches. Meaning there was limited interplay.

BoA's sculpts and articulation were tepid.

From the sounds of it, the bad news with Hasbro taking over, as far as the figures go, is that the 4 inch line sounds like yeah, they're going to be 5POA. Which is baaaad for collectors and okay for kids. On the other hand, the planned 6 inch ones will be collector friendly, which is gooood. Now PR fans can finally potentially maybe get a Tommy figure who vaguely resembles Tommy.

No idea on the mecha and roleplay toys though. Hopefully they'll just license the mecha from Bandai. It would be interesting if they did good looking and articulated Zords, but I don't know how well PR fans will accept that.

Nah, Joe died because Hasbro fucked themselves with the last minute rescheduling. They're making a new movie though, so hopefully that'll revive Joes.

According to the staff Dan Vs was never cancelled, they just lacked the funding to actually order another season. They wanted more. Also most were pretty adamant that the hub would fail. It was only after horses of a smaller stature, and Transformers Prime being mainstream successes that people thought it was going to work out.

Because that would force them to admit they have fucked up for the last 5-6 years, and for some reason companies have this disturbing trend lately of stubbornly refusing to admit they messed up or are ever wrong, even if it means loosing money and customers.

Bandai took a 4 year detour in 4 inch territory from 2010 to 2013 before switching back to 5 inch. When asked about it they admitted that their market research made it clear that kids weren't responding to the 4 inch figures, and those 4 inch figures actually had respectable articulation. I really think 5 inch is the magic number for kids. it's big enough to feel substantial in their hands, but not overwhelming big. When I think back to my childhood almost every line I bought was in the 5 inch range. Those were the figures that appealed most to me.

DCC's figures are better than your average ML though and those movie figures are easily on par with the best you see from japanese lines without paying an arm and a leg... and a better likeness too.

Because most instances of companies talking is them talking to investors, investors who probably have never walked into a toy aisle themselves, and they're talking about the big picture, not sales of a 5'' toy line.

The point is, cry as much as you like, but BoA's lost the license to Hasbro. Now, you can assume that Hasbro will fuck up Power Rangers. Who knows, you might turn out to be right.

You can even prefer the product that BoA produced. I mean, hey, Bandai (of Japan) produces unarticulated Super Sentai Mecha/Zords because they know that's what the fanbase want. There's nothing wrong with preferring one thing over the other.

I'm no economist, but a quick comparison with Microsoft shows that Microsoft had around a 6% net revenue growth and Hasbro had around a 5% growth. Comparing to Mattel, well... Mattel is completely working with losses at the end of 2017. I would compare to Lego as well, but I can't find their 2017 report. In 2016 they had a 6% growth though. So to a layman, it seems like Hasbro is doing fine.
