>>6795149The moment Disney got its hands on Star Wars they ruined Mon Mothma, that was even before the establishment of the new canon, in Dark Horse Star Wars 2013. I barely remember the basics but the rebels were paranoid about a mole and wondered who could it be. After 12 issues it turns out Mothma herself pushed info on an imperial officer who was her nephew. Apparently the empire was unable to get that family connection despite the ISB Gestapo, apparently Mothma just wanted to waste Leias time by searching for a mole, the whole ploy doesn't seem to have done anything for the rebel cause except ruin a bunch of missions.
I started going through all SW comics a few years ago and this series stuck out like a sore thumb as something so terrible I never want to be reminded of it again and then it turns out all of the new canon stories use the same template of just not giving a fuck, making up things as you go along, only caring about introducing new characters to rival the importance of the Luke/Leia/Han trio and Vader for "evening" female and minority representation. I surely will remember the Birra Seah forever but I will probably never understand what their goal was by retconning a woman into the role of Death Star architect despite Bevel Lemelisk being a thing, making Vader bully her into accepting a job as imperial officer and his personal mole, have her ditch her job and have a random issue inform the reader of her death in a text box. To top it off she even was force sensitive for no reason whatsoever.
