This is not the first time. The red Ninjago Movie Mech, AT-ST, unfinished AT-ST, AT-DP, way too many sets that have completely static legs, making it impossible for them to stand in anything but default configuration.

I think it might be time constraints. With 3 Marvel movies coming out a year now Lego must be really feeling the pain. But at least the Sanctum Sanctorum looks to be the best one in a while, though.
