My argument is that there are plenty of ugly fish in the sea (cheapo figs like Chap Mei) and poor paint apps/quality control (like GI Joe females such as various Baronesses, Scarlets and misc like Dial Tone). So we shouldn't intentionally go for homely figures because what relatively few females we have, aren't necessarily pretty. Not because the designers don't want them to be pretty, but because various factors at the production/manufacturing stage will mess them up.
Your argument is, you'd like to see more variety, even if it means intentionally going for normal/average faces.
Personally, I see where you're coming from, but if we're gonna intentionally go for non-pretty faces, then I think we should go all the way. Give them scars, wrinkles, or noticeable squints that are obviously intentional rather than a consequence of poor QC.
Take Zarana for instance. She's certainly no supermodel. She's almost man-faced, yet she's distinct without being a total dog. Whereas the Dragon Harvester looks like a bootleg.
