Anyway that's not how licensing works, son. If they HAD approval, that's done. They're approved and ready to go. What you're looking for is Pending Licensor Approval, which NECA said they had already cleared and that the figures were ready to get released
Other companies do not manage their licenses like shit. GSC manages licenses like beasts, check out their reportoire and how many different licenses they've worked with. And they've never complained about licensing issues or problems

Licensing is very, very, very different in Japan than it is in the US.

That's why there are so many games and stuff that can have characters from many, many different franchises, and those types of things are usually impossible in the US.

To be fair, GSC/MF has had a number of products vanish into the aether, they just straight-up never acknowledge them rather than state that it was due to licensing issues or anything. Max Factory was going to do JJBA figmas but that fell through, a number of Kara no Kyoukai items were shown once or twice only to never be mentioned again, and GSC recently straight-up cancelled a Touken Ranbu figure months after preorders had opened. Not denying that NECA has some issues with the whole "being professional" thing, but I think it's more that they're the only ones who blunder around enough to outright talk about these incidents rather than just sweeping them under the rug.
