What are some good options for SMT figures? I'm planning on picking up D-Arts Raidou and Figma P5 protag soon, and want some demons to go with them.

I've got nendo Jack Frost and am currently waiting on Figma Pixie and Angel (not too sure about Mara) and was wondering about stuff like demon prize figures or anything else that would work

You don't have a whole lot of options unless you want Persona or Devil Survivor stuff.

For demons quite a lot of prize figures and such do exist but often they're average at best in terms of quality and quite expensive. Pic related is a batch of them being sold on ebay at the moment. As you can see these are not exactly the greatest but for most demons this is all they'll ever get.

For human characters you are just shit out of luck really. A few of them do have prize figure, I know Demi-fiend, Varuna, and Mary from Soul Hackers had some nice prize figures but they're rare and cost a lot. Raidou had a d-arts figures and is actually pretty decent quality so if you're interested I suggest that. There also exist some DDS statues but again, quite rare.

The characters of Persona of course have a ton of statues, figmas, and nendos if you want them. The Devil Survivor girls have some statues as well but for males there's nothing really.

Basically I guess unless you're a waifufag then there isn't a great selection unless you're willing to to put down a lot of money.

I didn't know this one existed but the main protagonist of DeSu2 had a nendoroid if you liked that game I guess, can't imagine you or anyone is particularly huge DeSu2 fan though.

You have figmas of Yukiko, Chie and MC from P4
You have figma Aegis, actually a ton of them FES ver, Arena ver, Secondary Color ver. Metis and Labris as well. And MC
Then there's D-Arts Personas Jiraya, Yukiko's Persona whatever it's called, Izanagi, Izanagi-no-Okami, Magatsu Izanagi and Thanatos
Then there's the statues and prize/trading figures the other anon said
And that's probably it. There might be some more obscure ones and there's definitely garage kits, but getting those is notoriously difficult, especially outside Japan

Good luck browsing yahoo japan auctions for the smaller older stuff because youll need it. Theres not much not already mentioned in this thread. Be careful browsing as youll come across a lot of garage kit and other small fan creations that you wont be able to get easily.
The Furyu Demifiend statue shows up somewhat often if you want him and they did do a recent very limited rerelease so you might get lucky.

The FuRyu prize figs are decent quality and scale ok with figma, they're slightly undersized.

The koto blind bag figures have a much bigger selecting but are unfortunately only a few inches tall, hard to find and use old demon designs for some of them.

The thing is not even the good Persona chaacters have figures outside of statues, like there's the last three MCs but no P2 stuff, no P3 stuff aside from MC and like four Aigis figures, no P4 stuff aside from Chie and Yukiko's boring ass. P5 is getting some love non-waifu love with Yusuke (which is cool) but I'm kinda SOL otherwise

This is interesting, didn't know about it. I've never played the DeSu games, honestly the character designs are kinda off-putting (Persona's got that anime look but it's a bit more stylish, nothing beats Kaneko's art

SMT designs in general were better when Kaneko was exclusively drawing them. I much prefer the lifeless doll-like look of his characters as opposed to the generic anime style SMT4 and the newer Personas have

I got into Keita and Nirasawa thanks to Toku, so I had no real issues with their designs, and actually enjoyed them in 4. Not to say that Kaneko's designs aren't better, just that I liked 4's differences. I rocked all of 4 while wearing the Asmodeus armor.

Will agree. That's kinda the issue with re-ussing the pre-existing generic demons in the games, new stuff kinda stands out. Say for example the personae of the main cast in persona 3, 4, and 5. OR the atma avatars in DDS1 adn 2, which in general had a ver specificmouth strucutre and no real eyes (with the exception of Vritra, but even on that thing they were just two pinpricks of red in something that was 50% tentacle, 30% teeth, 10% ear rape, and 10% nightmare fuel.)

I think the main issue would be painting the green lines on the body and not fucking it up, but definitely doable. Personally, I think the easiest one to do would be Flynn or SMT 1 Hero pre-cataclysm. Hardest..I'd say Nanashi.

I just realized how badly Pixie is gonna scale with Raidou and the Figma Persona protagonists, and even though I'll still buy her, I'm slightly less excited for her. Nendo Jack Frost seems to scale fairly well, he might be a little on the large side but not as unfittingly huge as Pixie will be.

Fucking hell, I really need to play Raidou. In Imagine, they had demons that were variants, and with stat buffs/debuffs.

My friends say they didn't have them, but I swear to god I remember giant demons being enemies in that game.

Regarding IV's demons it was a bad move on Atlus' part. Atlus took artists known for their over the top toku/sentai monsters and asked them to draw for a series about representing mythology. It was just a dumb decision and gave us shit like Asmodeous. At least we got Minotaur thankfully.

The IV:A designs by Doi are pretty wonky as you get stuff like Odin that, while not bad, doesn't really fit with the series. Still, some designs like Adramelech were pretty good.

Honestly, Odin was my favorite demon in IV:A. I don't really mind the designs for the most part in IV, IV:A, and SJR/DSJ, as long as they looked good. I mean hell, Koga Saburo is one of my favorite demons in IV, and it's definitely in my top 10. Although that's really just a matter of personal opinion, and whether you prefer accuracy, quality, or a mixture of both.

That being said, dammit I wish Koga Saburo would get a Figma. Too bad it'll never happen.

Most of them aren't terrible (Napaea is beyond saving, not even Kaneko could salvage that) but I just feel they're not fitting for SMT.

Koga Saburo would be difficult I imagine with the floating arms would be pretty tough to do. With pixie and angel out of the way I hope we can move on to more cool demons rather then the sexy stuff they choose to be safe. Metatron, Cu Chulainn, Siegfried, Belial, and Chernobog would be cool.

There are way too many demons I'd overpay for, admittedly Nekomata is definitely leaning towards the sexy side but you'd think at least the skeletons would be on the safer side

Cu Chulainn is always one of my lategame demons. As for Koga Saburo, I'd honestly be fine with some liberties by just giving the full arms, like the cosplay suit you can get in one of the DLCs in IV.

Alternatively, I'd pay more for a deluxe version that used clear plastic or something to help make it look like they were floating.

Cu Chulainn actually has a fair shot I feel. He's pretty popular among fans, in a poll awhile back people voted for their favorite demons and he made #3, above even Jack Frost. He was beat pnly by Alice (#2) and Mara (#3).

Shiki-Ouji you mean? I love both of the Shiki demons. Something about a monster being made of paper AND actually looking pretty opposing is so cool to me. I foumd this awhile back on pixiv, I wish I could make one myself.
