>>6807544IDW took over and finally made it important rather than . Most of what IDW has done is take risks and deal with some thorny issues nobody else wanted to touch like the Primes, how/why they have gender, and a lot of bringing the Japanese continuity into a western canon.
Oh, and Earth became a Transformer god too. Atlas. Thanks to Bay, it’ll probably be important in the future.
Currently, the cosmology is there was the brothers and the sister. Atlas, Unicron, and Primus. Cybertron is Primus’s inactive body, Unicron consumes worlds so he won’t go into stasis like his siblings. After Primus went into a statis state his Spark became the Guiding Hand, five gods who created the Cybertronian race. The first Cybertronians who are now known as the Knights Of Cybertron for reasons unknown created an allegedly utopian civilization, the Titans and their tiny servants the Titan Masters, and then left for parts unknown. The Cybertronians descended into chaos, tribes lead by the greatest of their number who were like demigods. These were the Primes, there was more than thirteen but some were killed in wars and finally the Thirteen were left in a brotherhood. Liege Maximi was the Prime who serves as a Satan analogue and turned them to war with each other, Megatronus allegedly killed Solus Prime although anything we know about the Primes is filtered through myth and legend. A minion of one of the dead Primes, Galvatron, allegedly killed Nexus Prime causing all of them to leave Cybertron while Liege Maximo was imprisoned by his people.
Yadda yadda, shit tons of Cybertronians left in the Titans and colonized the universe, hence why most life is robotic. Onyx Prime went with the ones who’s alt modes are animals, Solus’s tribe worship the Primes as gods, Micronus’s were all wiped out save one female. As for the Guiding Hand, the one of death is a story arc villain.
