I think Megatron's fusion cannon on the turret helps out a lot, and makes it feel more like a futuristic cyber-tank than a real tank, which is where all the little nitpicks stand out. Also the uniform purple scheme helps a lot.

(Just in time for Takara to throw in the towel) G2 Megs was my first experience with the mold, which may be why I think it's so perfect.
