I write fanfiction with hundreds of crossovers and make landscapes with my toys..

I collect 3.75 figures and basically see them as on giant universe in my head. So g.i.joe and marvel figs working fogether, the predator fighting terminators. It's fun.

Did this for years even after I stopped collecting toys in my teens and 20s. It all started with the Kenner xenomorphs where the Gorilla Alien was actually a good guy (read: MAXIMUM POWER GARY STU) and the Scorpion Alien was his younger brother who was evil and kept coming back into existence no matter how many times he was killed. This struggle of good xeno vs bad xeno swallowed up any franchise I got into with toys later (save gunpla) and eventually I finally laid it to rest when it hit critical mass of complexity. For the past few months, the Shark Bite pirates have been stealing important parts and energy sources from around the country to power their ship. Theyre always confronted by the heroes and are nearly beaten by them, before their hired help swoops in at the last minute. in the last battle, they successfully steal an unlimited energy crystal to power their ship. Sonic, Hyper Guardian and Samus are able to subdue the pirates a lot easier this time, then Armaggon unleashes a swarm of Gnaws at them. Bomberman is able to knock out Armaggon, thus losing control of the swarm. But an upgraded XT-4 comes out of nowhere and rips out Samus' armor. while the team tends to her, the bad guys escape and prepare their ship for launch

Yeah, I do the same, I had a full on world going with one of my friends (I have schizto and the whole building worlds thing has been one of the only things to help calm it and keep it manageable) for years we wrote fics and drew art and shit, but now he’s moving on with his life and getting into larping and graduating and hasn’t really talked to me at all, let alone mentioned anything about the characters. It’s sort of confusing me, and I don’t want to bring it up in case they just want to move on, but it feels like a book that’s never going to close.

I miss sitting up late when I can’t sleep just making all these worlds. Sorry for using this place as a therapists office, just needed to let it out, feeling a bit lonely, lads.

I used to do this with photocomics. Then I realized I was putting effort into works that aren't my own characters. So, I've moved beyond it from now. I think with my transformers I tend to think of them in sort of a loose continuity for the order I place them in my detolfs.

All my lego stuff has characterization, lore, and i write down shorty silly ideas for stories, conversations and photocomics.
I'm not a great photographer and have a bad habit of doing 10+ projects roughly at the same time so i hardly have any done. I'm imaginative, but as a sperg i'm just a tard in regards to planning things like this. It's something i'd love to dive in more, for now i just have dioramas and cars all over everywhere and those make me happy too.

I used to pose my 3.75 and 1/18 scale figures in various battle scenarios before I went into a depression. I used to post pics alot here back in 2006-2008 of various scenarios I made on my bedroom floor. I moved recently and have access to more places that I could do outdoor pictures in possibly.

I have a roughly big story brainstorming in my head with GI Joe characters mainly but taking concepts from several other franchises.

I roughly want to start from the origin of the team with Lonzo and SE in 'Nam, so the possibility of Marauders doing a Vietnam War kickstarter after their WW2 KS currently came as a neat surprise.

I then have several inter related stories, like:
- Fast forward to the universe's present and I don't know if it is going to be the start of the team or a reunion of them after some sort of dissolution, but someone(Hawk maybe as someone aching to Gen.Troutman from Rambo) goes to Alaska or something to requisition [Classified] again for an infiltration mission on a nuclear base (MGS), he then faces a lot of enemies and intrigue ensues.
-Meanwhile Duke is working on his own as gov. Contractor or something, has his own team of operators. They get called in to investigate a crash in the jungle of Valverde and extract any survivor. Then they face against... Shadow Tracker! aka not the Predator.
-on the other side of the world, Falcon is training militia to overthrow the (democratically elected) Cobra government in some ficticious Balkan country. Ethical concerns come into play etc then some stuff happens and all the stories get together. Trying to write it now with out being too cringe but its hard lol

As a single child I used to play with my dad a lot, specially with green army men.
Each of us had its own army and each army would have a randomly picked leader. The war consisted on throwing small rocks to the enemy army and it was over when one of the leaders was dead.
One time I managed to kill every soldier on my dad's army but the leader, while he killed all of mine. Then my dad made up a weird story line of his guy going nuts and running around screaming "kill me! kill me!" it obviously didn't happen because everyone else was dead. Shit was so hilarious to us that after that the crazy guy would always be my dad's army leader (personality wise, as we didn't knew which toy had the role while playing) and that even if he got killed, he somehow survived to lead another army at the next war (which didn't exactly help with his mental issues).

I hate how being an adult conflicts with one's desire to have silly, innocent fun. I want to reenact some things with my toys but then I can't help but see myself through the eyes of the cynical anon I usually pretend to be. On one hand it's a good thing since it prevents me from producing cringe. On the other hand I feel like I'm actively denying myself the fun that I instinctively long for. I don't want to slip off into the cringy autistic shit territory but then I realize that this might be exactly the territory I'd probably have most fun with. I don't know how to deal with this feeling of self-cringe.

The compromise I'm thinking about is gathering enough figures/props so I can make silly comics with my figures that are presentable enough to come off as unironically good, artsy photography. And I'm not talking about just regular good-looking photos you see in the photo threads but silly short comics/stories with clever use of my characters' abilities. But then I'd have to give myself credit for being witty which I'm most probably not. I'm also already cringing at these thoughts while I'm writing this very post so go figure. I wish I knew how to overcome the inner anon that prevents me from being creative.

I have trouble believing that not everybody has some sort of 'cringy' fun loving aspect to them. People call it 'cringy' towards out of fear of criticism. If they criticize and shit talk everything, they'll distance themselves from the pain of being criticized for something they love. It's a societal thing that keeps itself afloat.

I met some jolly legit autist a while back. Many things he does and likes would be considered cringy by people, but i'd rather hang out with him and his pleasant and genuine joy out of things than some cynical jaded cool guy faggot from /v/.

If you still have trouble letting yourself go, try to 'improve' yourself in some other way to balance it out and give you peace of mind.

I can't disagree that it can be a bit of an investment. Money and time. I was lucky to still have me and my older brother's collection when i slowly got back into it.
Bricklink can be a blessing and a curse. You can get all the pieces you want to make whatever you want without having to buy a billion sets, but it can be addicting. Making things with regular bricks can be relatively cheap, minifigures can be a lot more expensive.
However i've passed a point where dropping money that most people would find weird or concerning on figure parts, i know i'll get a lot of joy out of them so it's worth it for me.
