>>6819140Yes, as evidenced by the numerous kickstarter and crowd funded 1:18 action figure lines have demonstrated, there is a demand for more 1:18 on the market, but not only that, but in the case of Marauder Task Force and Eagle Force Returns, military action figures. Further there still exists The Corps and True Heroes at retail, which lack the better sculpting and identifiable characters of the GI Joe brand, yet parents buy The Corps and True Heroes for their kids, and collectors buy them as well, if even just for vehicles for their Joes.
And going just from a toyline perspective, GI Joe can survive and be successful, and has been stated by Hasbro that they could have continued the line, as GI Joe sold very well in the US, but Toys R Us didn't want to buy anymore vehicle packs as they had trouble moving them.
The line itself has always been successful with the collector market, but right now it's just not successful with the current child market, because there's been a lengthy absence of Joe media, with only the quickly forgotten movies and Renegades for kids to become aware of the property. But a new movie or a new cartoon series may change that, but the show would have to be somewhere like Netflix.

It'd be a fun experiment and the figures might be cool, but creating a new scale would turn off some, plus there would likely be no vehicles, and Star Wars Black Series isn't even profitable and only continues because of the Star Wars property being as big as it is that they just continue. While Marvel Legends on the other hand makes money, but is riding high on the success of Marvel movies, which seem to be promoting the line. Joe is more niche than Star Wars and Marvel at this current point.
