I actually managed to find one of those promotional 2-packs at Toys R Us last weekend.
I don't even know if these are good Beyblades or not, I haven't kept up, I just wanted some cheap Beyblades and they only had two 2-packs left.

Can I get some feedback on this? I want a way to display single bey combos that shows all the parts, I had this idea. 3 layers, each one molded to hold whichever part since they all have some standard fitting. (Evey layer fits in the 2 prong launcher, every disc has the same radius for the center hole, and every driver has the same spring mechanism to lock into the layer)

Then just mount those to some veritcal poles for a minimalist look and you can swap the parts on the display. Thoughts on this? I was considering either 3D printing the parts and then mounting them through some thin painted dowels into a circular wooden base.

Get him one of the switchstrike beyblades from the new season. Garuda G3 is the strongest competitive-wise (hard to burst), Valtrek V3 is the main character's beyblade.

It shouldn't fit but I read posts saying some parts do. I don't have Hasbro beys so I can't confirm it for you.
If you want your mG to be extra tight give it A-type God Chip (you can check by removing your chips and checking if any have A1, A2 or A3 etc. on on them)

If you are looking for just for fun, get whatever you think looks cool. They all are pretty sweet looking. Be on the lookout for one called "Fafnir F3" Its called Drain Fafnir 8 Nt. in japoland... but anyway Its a left spin bey that legitimately steals spin from most other beyblades. Its got rubber tips and it just grips the other tops hard. There are videos of people hand spinning the bey against a full launch and it wins (ive tried it myself and it works a lot of the time.)

I'm not sure if Hasbro's version has mold namings or if they're even removeable but either way Garuda is very difficult to burst in both versions and was partly banned in tournaments. As of now it's the strongest in Hasbro's switchstrike line.

I watched a part of an episode from Burst Evolution today, I find it amazing that the skills the beyblades have are somehow close their gimmicks in reality. If you think about it nearly every episode is an ad for a beyblade, grip, or shit like that. Japanese and their clever jewing tactics

Does anyone here know much about the competitive scene for Beyblade? I've seen some videos on YouTube and I was kind of surprised that all of the participants were kids because I've been to card game tournaments and rarely see kids there at all, even if the game is marketed to them.
