>Be 13
>Someone suggested Stikfas to me
>look it up and be amazed at the possibilities
>beg my mom and dad to buy me some
>They said no, since money is tight
>Decide to save up my small allowance and started doing odd jobs for people like helping them move, watching their kids, and cleaning
>End up saving over $250
>Parents noticed how much I wanted these damn toys and was willing to work for them
>One weekend, they surprised me with an extra $150 plus a trip to another city
>My parents actually looked up what Stikfas were and called around stores to see if they had any
>Shopping trip was the best day ever
>Bought a lot of Stikfas like the Military set, the rock band, the dragon, the rescue workers, the robot and a shitton of single characters
>Have a lot of money left over, so I tell my parents that we should go eat out
>I pick an All-You-Can-Eat Korean BBQ place where you actually grill your own meats and what not
>Have the best day ever
>Go home with all my new toys
>Majority of them shatter either during assembly or when I was trying to pose them
>Tears start running to my face because the toys my parents and I worked hard for and devoted time to get were shattering not even a day into owning them
>Keep it a secret because I didn't want my parents to find out
>Everytime they ask me about it I lied
>They seemed very pleased that I was happy
>Dad later died in a car accident on his way to work
>Mom decides to give me my birthday present months early, a week after the funeral
>"Happy Birthday anon, I'm glad you're enjoying your movie-making toys, let's go out to eat together again sometime, you're still paying"
>Open the box
>It's more Stikfas
>Cry myself dry confessing to my mother about what happened to those actual toys
>She told me it was okay and that she understood
Now we eat Korean BBQ at least once a year to remember my dad. I kept the sealed box in my house for the longest time, but it was destroyed in a fire years later while I was at work.
