When I was growing up in the 90's/00's we had toys based around shitting and pooping. There were some dog toys where you'd put some pellets and putty in the dog's mouth and then press their tail to make them shit it out
Baby toys that pissed and shat to give the realistic feeling of changing a baby's diaper and making them go potty were also pretty common
And of course there were booger monsters and other stuff like slime buckets and other gross-out toys like that
Kids are fascinated with nasty shit and like grossing each other out, toy companies have taken advantaged of that for years. And they're still doing it, obviously
I'd wager the old stuff was a bit better or more interesting though if only because some toys tried to disguise it. Like the booger monsters had at least an attempt at designing some interesting characters that would gross kids out
Nowadays it's literally stuff like the poop emoji, just 3-inch figures of a turd with a face
