>>6842073It is kind of difficult to feel sad for this. Literally everywhere else has better prices except maybe Riteaid (wtf old liquidation toys at double price?), not even including online.
A story I haven't told here.
I'm a "freelancer" doing graphic design, 3D design, and CNC programming, always have my backpack full of equipment with me...
About 4 years ago, middle of the day just got off the bus, go into TRU beside a woman with stroller and baby bag.
"Sir, sir, we have to take your bag!"
Have to explain to them why I can't hand client data and $$ worth of equipment over to them, give them my card. Call the police if you want.
Wander about being disappointed by poor selection and high prices.
Witness the mom stuffing toys into the baby bag.
I'm leaving, manager blocked door.
"Check your cameras on the woman with the baby."
"Sir, I need to check your bag."
"Only do with the police present."
"Sir, we saw you stealing." (hilarious old police bluff!)
I call 911. Usually have to apologetically call it off when opponent backs down, this fucktard doesn't.
3 officers arrive, while we're discussing... baby mom rushes the exit pushing aside incoming customers, pillars beeping. I'm smiling.
Workers and police ignore her. WTF?
They still insist. I sit down in front of the exit, and start emptying my bag. Now they protest loudly, "can't do that here!", despite asking me to do exactly this.
Hand the empty bag to an officer.
"I've proven you are harassing an innocent person I will file an official complaint."
They do the "please don't do thats". Offer a $100 gift card, what the fuck good is that when I didn't find anything here?
I actually file a small claims suit through my father's lawyer. The day of the hearing TRU lawyer approached me before session, asked me to be "reasonable". I ended up accepting a $1000 check settling out of court (filed for the $5000 max, probably would have got it).
Never shopped TRU again.
Now they're closing. Nothing of value is lost
