How open are you about your collection, /toy/?
Do you keep it out in the open? Would you hide it if you ever had visitors over? Or are you the type of pic-related that feels the need to let everyone know about it?

I'm very open about my collection/collecting.

Whenever my brother and mother stop by and see it they even notice new additions.
In fact, my mom actually likes my Star Wars samurai figures.
My brother calls me a fag and tells me that anime is better.

My friends could care less, but when I show them cool character designs they're slightly attentive.
I have one friend who's a mint-in-box guy and a scalper to boot. He's the only person who criticizes me

We once got into an argument so heated that we almost threw punches at each other.

But yeah, no one really gives me shit about it since I'm a responsible adult in almost every other aspect of my life.

It's in my living room and probably the first thing you see when you enter the apartment. Protip for are you self conscious NEETS. If you keep your shit clean and well organized. No one will give a shit. I usually get compliments from even strangers who see it and have no interest in the stuff i.e Landlord, fire inspector etc.

If you keep your shit a cluttered unorganized mess. ie. Dusty, boxes everywhere, bad shelving and the rest of your living space is a mess with discarded mountain dew bottles and underwear all over your place. People will regard you as a manchild.

as far as displaying things i dont have much room and don't really like clutter so i'll have at most two kits out on a shelf at a time, the rest stay packed up in boxes.

I don't volunteer information on my hobbies unless it comes up naturally in conversation, or someone comes to my place and sees my Gunpla. Which is easy, because my desk is across the room from the front door.

I have all of my figures out on display, having said that I like to keep it to mostly 1 detolf, as I'm still in an apartment and don't want to use up too much of my space - Once I'm a homeowner, I will gladly dedicate as much space as I can to toys.

Until then, I'm buying and selling toys to try and not keep them too cluttered, but other than that, I'm happy showing off my toys, and my friends will enjoy chatting about them every so often.

When hobbies do come up I give it a mention with my others. Then sometimes it gets talked about more, sometimes not.

As for display, yeah that's in my living room. Saving up for a house though, and taking it seriously. So in a year or two I'll have a room dedicated to my collection.
