>>6848934Post proof, then. We've talked about this, but there is never any fucking proof of MP sales numbers. The only evidence we have to go by is how much the figures get talked about, and if you look back, the three most recent, super-sunbow figures (Inferno, Megatron and Sunstreaker) really weren't talked about much at all. Hell, Artfire got talked about more than most of them because he had a few anons that really loved him, and the fact that he was a literal-who that got a new TM mold triggered geewunners.. Even Megatron, arguably the second-biggest character in the franchise, a pop culture legend, only got talked about because he was scratching himself to bits. There wasn't much in the way of actual discussion or pictures from anons here. Another anon a couple of threads ago commented that he got Sunstreaker and liked it, but wondered why nobody was talking about it. The sad part is that Sunstreaker even came out at a time where there was almost literally nothing else to talk about, as TR was ending, PotP was trickling out but not easily available to most, movie stuff was cycling back down and there were no big announcements on the horizon, and people STILL gave him the cold shoulder. But a few years ago, every MP often dominated discussion for at least a few threads after it got released.
To say that the current style of MP sells more is to imply that the old style didn't. Are there honestly any fans of the cartoon that weren't buying the old MPs 10 to 20-ish anyway? The diehard cartoon fans they're pandering too with this new style are the kinds of collectors that would have bought any MP figure, even if it wasn't 100% sunbow.
