Half the height doesnt mean much in regards to thinkness of noodle limbs.
But they still probably cloud be done better.

honestly sonics arms would be best with shoulder joints but bendy wire for the rest of the arm. or does he have normal elbows now and I never noticed.

No, bendy wire wears out and breaks eventually. If we're looking for alternatives to jointed elbows and knees, I'd rather have alternate limbs (flexed and straight) that can be plugged into his shoulders and hips.

But I don't think either one is necessary really. The limb joints on the Tomy ultimate figure are incredibly unobtrusive.

Yeah, no thank you. Are these not incredibly visible for everyone else? It makes it look incredibly cheap. I like the sculpt for the head and the coloring, otherwise it's obviously inferior to the Nendoroid in every way.

The biggest complaint about the SHF Mario was how the articulation looks and this is 10x worse. Like most western toy releases, they use shitty looking joints that make the characters look like they have prosthetic limbs.

I wouldn't personally say this ruins t he figure, but I do still prefer the Nendo even though this one is actually classic Sonic.

I'd rather have visible pins than no hinge joint at all. The nendoroid just has a swivel joint at the shoulders.

I feel like people don't remember how limited the articulation was on the nendo. It looked good but that's about it. Nendos are display pieces, not action figures.

Honestly I think SH Figuarts should give Sonic a go. The Mario stuff was pretty mediocre, but I think if any company could handle making a decent Sonic that's actually in a decent scale, they could. I mean, the Donald figure they're making for their Kingdom Hearts line is going to be roughly 3.5 inches tall, and that's about what a 1/12 scale Sonic would be, and those limbs are pretty noodley. If that thing doesn't turn out to be a mess, they could definitely make a sonic.

That, or Revoltech. The Judy Hopps Yamaguchi figure kind of proves it can be done too.

I remember when I was a kid, I would dream up all the Sonic toys I wish were a thing. I wanted a Deat Egg playset and all that shit.

I used to play with those all the time, though. Made Robotnik baddies out of the "not lego" blocks we had.

Its not hiding the joints I'm talking about though, its that sonics arms bend on a arc, not a singular elbow joint. Its about capturing his poses even better.

Fair enough point, but with the swappable parts of the Nendoroid, I feel like I'm able to do any pose I want. Of course it's a bit more limited but just the overall look of quality on the Nendoroid makes up for it.

Later jazwares Sonic figures had better joints with bicep and knee swivels and hidden pins, it IS possible to make a well articulated Sonic at the 3 inch scale that still has a good sculpt.

yeah the joints are improved but with that came slightly bigger limbs, while the rest is same size. itd be nice if the made the head and torso bigger, even if it became a new scale
