>>6869364Sometimes I don't even know who their main customers are anymore when I look at the prices.
There are barely any (appealing) sub-10$ pocket money sets anymore outside of the odd polybag and what was once the 50-70$ flagship set is now a mid-tier one while the new ones are now in the 100-200 range - who outside of mature/adult collectors and kids with overly rich parents even buys those?
Just take the Ninjago Movie waves for example: there are two 10$ sets, some lame dojo and a spinner that aren't even in the movie and the main attractions, the Ninja vehicles, start at 40 bucks and go up to like 90 and you still have almost half a dozen even more expensive sets like Garmaddon's Shark, Ninjago City, Destiny's Bounty, the temple or the upcoming docks.
The less said about licensed sets like Star Wars and its 40$ escape pod or 60$ AT-STD the better.
It's no wonder why people grab a much cheaper set from a different brand these days - no parents want to randomly shell out 50 bucks to shut up their kids for a few hours or days.
