What toy collectors (especially for Western lines like Hasbro and Mattel do) often describe assortments of a price point as a "wave". Even the manufacturers do this on the cases they ship to stores.
Usually those waves coincide with a particular timeframe of release, so we'll also think of that time period as a "wave": the fall wave, the spring wave, etc.
In the case of Mattel's Jurassic World line, where there are a metric buttload of assortments, not every single one lines up with the first release date, April 16. That's how you end up with the Mosasaurus, ostensibly the first figure of its price point because it's the only one, not actually releasing alongside the initial product line.
