Also, because I'm a dick and want to break this awful image down even more, I want to point out two things.
1.) the backward stab is an incredibly stupid move with a lightsaber. "Oh yeah, sure , you look really cool. By the way, your torso and armpit are literally cooking right now"
2. For Maul to be THAT close to Vader with two lightsabers, there's literally NO reason that couldn't have killed him before Vader was able to turn around his saber, or for that matter, before he even got that close to Vader.
