>>6904819>Other than them and Gypsy, I can't tell you what the others looked like or their names.I know their names, but that's been because of nothing but osmosis via talking here about the toys. The movie does a terrible job of making the names memorable and associating them with the proper bots. We literally just get some kid name dropping them all in an info dump.
I started to think about it, exactly WHY they had such boring designs, and why they weren't really that memorable other than Gipsy and Obsidian, but I could never quite put my finger on exactly what the problem was...
That is, until I watched some dudes review on the RD figures, and he had them all lined up in very similar poses, and then it hit me; There's really only two Jaeger designs for all of the robots in this movie; The tall, slim, sleek design (Gipsy, Obsidian, and Saber Athena) and the other one; The squat, bulky, boxy design (Bracer, Titan, Guardian).
The three sleek ones at least sort of have more unique designs from one another, but aside from Gipsy's hand plasma guns, all three essentially fight with swords.
The three bulky ones have almost nothing about them that stand out. Shape wise, they're almost identical, right down to them having more or less the exact same chest shape, and even the same large shoulder guard things. Strip away the color and weapons on Bracer, Titan, and Guardian, and you practically can't even tell the difference between them. The shaping is almost identical on all three...
Such a shame...even the fucking background Jaegers that had like, 30 seconds of screentime in the first movie had way more memorable designs and more personality than these.
