I know this is only partially related, but Ginyu is going to be a very important figure for Figuarts collectors.

Currently there's nowhere near as strong enough of a precedent for full custom Figuarts releases as their is for something like 3rd party Transformers.

Dragon Ball is changing that, between stuff like the custom SS3 heads or Ultra Instinct, and the Super Saiyan Blue recolors, custom Figuarts are becoming more common.

I know in the past there were only super expensive low production run releases for the Sentai and Rider stuff.

If Ginyu is super successful and doesn't end up like Dragon Momoko, we may see a big surge of 3rd Party Figuart scale toys for not only Dragon Ball, but other franchises.

Dude, the point was that Bulma's hair color in Z isn't the same as the one in Super, it looked way more greenish. The original manga color has nothing to do with this.

I would have bit on the third party figures if he had actual production samples that were finished out to show off, but his photos use renders and the unpainted ginyu prototype was unconvincing of final build quality.

Somewhat true, but a lot of these characters really spent most of the important battle battle damaged, and the villains we get mainly For example, damaged Nappa was featured a lot more than the armored Nappa. Frieza and Cell both fought Goku and Gohan until they were ripped and tattered.

SSBlue Goku does. He's actually accurate to the anime. That's not to say he's perfect, but he does look better than the figuarts. Black also looks pretty good. The rest look like dogshit compared to the figuarts.

Think about when Good Smile used licensing loop holes to make those Dragon Knight Figmas,

Bandai came right around and made the Ryuki Figuarts some of the best in the line at the time in order to squash them.

So if Ginyu comes out and does reasonably well, to the point of threatening sales, they'll probably do the same thing.

In the end you'll get a better official Ginyu when he does release.

Now you may be thinking, "Well what if they don't do that?", then that means we'll have a semi-competent release of a character they were never going to do anyway. In the end we don't lose if this thing comes out.

Imo the face looks better than the SHF too. He doesn't look super squinty. There's just something about the SHF that looks off to me. His artticulation is decent, his legs are hindered a bit but other than that he's pretty solid. That isn't to say he doesn't have his problems. The aforementioned legs, he can't look up due to how the hair is sculpted, and I do dislike the Marvel Legends style joints when comparing to the SHF. Also fuck those peg holes on his arms and legs. His gi is also a tad more orange than I think it should be but that's just me. Overall he's a much better deal than the SHF especially when you compare the DS price of $20 to the SHF price of what, almost $200 at this point? I mean shit, he even looks good with SHF SSB Vegeta.

I will give you the rest of the line is far inferior to SHF in every way. At least we get characters like Hit, Jiren, and Cabba out of the line.

Godku and Threeku are good. From experience Golden Frieza is garbage.
From videos and images Blueku/Vegito/SS2Gohan all look terrible and fall apart along with loose joints. I accidentally recieved an Awakening Goku boot from Amazon and you could see how off it was, plus pieces were falling off.

The good thing about the 2.0 boot of SS3 Goku is that he comes with the stand. His hands are just a bit off, and has a loose ab joint. So he's a good deal. Godku is also really good. The rest seem like pure shit besides Datong. I hope the guys who did Godku do the rest of the boots or give themselves a name so you know.

Threeku has a better ab crunch because the bootleg uses godku's lower torso just molded in the right color. I'm really impressed with them both and definitely will be on the lookout for if a black or especially a Majin Vegeta gets a bootleg. Basically, rebuying parts in this line sucks and I look forward to seeing if third party makers have the balls to go for variants by mixing molds.

Actually, it was like $62 for the first two waves.

My only guess is that; A.) They know that with TRU going down, your options are slim for finding these and B.) The character selections are getting more desirable as the waves go on.

I think the head looks pretty good. About what is to be expected. But the bigger body sure does bring out how plain these figures can look....definitely needs some more detail and another layer or two of paint or something...

Looks pretty good. The issue with those holes in the joints is obvious. Needs a torso joint, and needs a wash or something. The sculpt isn't bad though, but fuck does it look cheap with no paint and the joints. Will probably look decent with a wash though

If you have no others I wouldn't start with Piccolo. I would start with Awakening Goku, you can get him on BBTS for $55 plus shipping and is an amazing figure, probably one of the best. Aside from him I'd look at what's still readily available: Tien, Yamcha, Nappa, Vegeta 2.0, etc.

My only guesses are they're waiting for a slow period and some guaranteed sales, or development on him was planned early, but canned due to lining up too close to the 2.0 body development.
