>>6913491Oh I'm not saying that he deserved it, or that it was right, or that it was anything other then a shitty situation all round. But it was a shitty situation, that Trayvon did bring upon himself.
Like dying from a heart attack because all you eat is Big Macs. Sure, you don't deserve to die, but you did bring it upon yourself. Or like that kid a few years ago who was shot dead by cops because he pointed a realistic looking AK-47 BB gun at cops. He didn't deserve to die, but he did bring it upon himself by pointing what looked like a real assault rifle at cops after they told him to put it on the ground.
Trayvon was a little teenage thug. Did that mean that he deserved to die? No.
Does that mean that he should be held up as a picture of innocence and have the world call for the death/incarceration of the man that killed him (having no other choice then to do so)? No.
Should Obama have weighed in by whipping tears from his eyes and says "If I had a son, he'd look like Trayvon", and in doing so painting Trayvon as a completely innocent child who could do no wrong and had absolutely no hand in his own death? No.
None of that however changes the fact that it was a tragic, shitty situation. Those are just some cold realities.
