>>6891196>These make no sense whatsoever.I already made fun of OP upthread, but these do actually make sense.
Lego won't be releasing a new castle line for at least a couple of years, because they're going to start releasing Harry Potter sets this summer, which includes Hogwart's and other sets that fill the "fantasy wizards" niche. In this case, an in-house theme like Nexo Knights would be seen as competition with the HP stuff, similar to how Lego doesn't produce an original space-themed line anymore because it would compete with the Star Wars line.
This applies to PotC as well; we won't see another original pirate theme until Lego no longer plans on making more PotC sets.
The wild west thing is only sort of true. Mostly it's because even in the 1990s, pushing the "Red Indians wear feathers and warpaint, Union Soldiers just want to peacefully build their forts and deal with safe-stealing bandits" was pretty risky from a PC standpoint, and would be vetoed immediately if someone suggested it today.
However, only retards think that Lego's increased production of licensed sets means the company is dying. What they really mean, but have trouble articulating, is that they're upset because Lego produces sets that children want instead of producing sets that manchildren want.
