Is it okay to clean your figures with warm water & dish washing soap?

If it won't ruin the paint, I'm going to soak some of these guys for a few minutes and scrub with a soft toothbrush to get rid of whatever insecticide smell they have. I'm pretty sure it isn't smoke.

I'll start off with testing a few, but I wasn't sure if there's a better method.
