black action character toys targeting boys do usually sell well if done well. black panther, blade, lando, and the black gi joes usually all sell well because they are iconic well designed characters. meanwhile characters like falcon and finn dont cause their designs are pathetic and their characters unmemorable. female figures and black figures meant for girls are an entirely different story. studies have shown that people of all races find themselves more attracted to white men and women than any other race. imo this is probably due to that old association of paleness with aristocracy. boys usually find themselves attracted to toys that dont necessarily look attractive while one of the main appeal for toys targeting girls is traditional attractiveness and because of this girls like white toys more despite the race of the girl.

So far ALL modern black figures based on shitty characters from questionable movies. (Finn, Ghostbusters/etc.)

I think they do just as well as any ethnicity, as long as the character and figure are good. You don't see Finn selling as well, but Black Panther obviously is. That's the most obvious evidence right there.

the black panther toys have sold well honestly, not as well as spidey, but beter than gotg surprisingly. I think they just overestimated the demand is all. for example, the first few waves old out, and so did the 12 inch one. But then they ordered 3 more sets, and 2/3rds sold before they ordered another batch and now they're kinda warming. Not nearly as bad as starwars though.

Black toys sell very well. I Missed the Black Panther SH Figuarts the first time. I pre-ordered the Infinity War version and I am sure that will sell out as well.

I'm assuming you're reffering to the 1/6 scale marvel legends figures here, and it's mostly for how solid they are. They're relatively strong plastic with tight joints, and much of transformers articulation comes from them being made up of so many parts in comparison. Plus, with these Hasbro actually bothers to paint the faces right. Even as some who likes the new 1/6 marvel legends, I think the $50 dollar price is a tad bit higher than they're worth, I'd say $40 would be fairer

I don't think I am being racist when I say that the hero and the villain look EXACTLY the same.
I buy a lot of Spiderman and Iron Man because there is some variety there. Captain A not so much.

I can't really bless the toy when the creators themselves fail to support them with imagination.

Is there anyone who can't come up with cooler alternatives to BP?

Black Panther and Killmonger seem to be selling well. But they're masked, so...

Kids tend to buy toys that resemble those around them first.
This is also why toys like transformers and power rangers and ninja turtles can sell so well.
They're just cool looking, no sign of race.
