I think what's sad is that most PR actors outside of JDF never much went anywhere. Most of their fame is from a kids TV program that's on par with 60s Batman in terms of acting and plot, but while Adam West was able to maintain his career and even ride that typecasting, these guys sort of just linger in small roles and convention appearances.

He's opening a toy store but small businesses are such a gamble and he's not an a-list star anymore, it may still fail in the first 6 months as such stores often do.

That's retarded, if he stopped signing then his sig would get even MORE inflated in price. By selling toys with his sig directly for practically msrp he's not really gaining anything. Meanwhile, flooding the collector market with his sig will drive down the value and deter scalpers from his shit.

I had a CD signed by Rob Halford, no one wanted to pay more than a few dollars for it as if it were a plain used CD.

Also, sigs without some sort of authentication can be worthless or avoided because sigs are faked all the time, have been for centuries. Not just to forge them for money either, presidents and other politicians would have an ink stamp made up or have their aides sign their name to save time and I bet a lot of celebs who reponded by mail would do the same just so they wouldn't have to spend all their free time signing letters.

The only way to 100% authenticate a modern signature is if you filmed the celeb signing it for you, forgeries can get pretty good ad even an expert can have trouble if it's a good forgery.

Most people sell signed stuff to recoup the cost of travelling to varying comic conventions. I've done this once or twice - nothing wrong with selling an autographed item for a high price.

What he is doing is the definition of a scalper - you buy a ton of the stock to artificially increase demand and reduce the available stock to others.

Buying a signed autographed item and then selling it higher elsewhere is not scalping.

JDF never really wanted to be an actor, he just sort of fell into it because he was helping out with stunts early on and they cast him because he was available. He's done some other token acting roles but I doubt he really pursued it. even Skull's actor said as much during a fan Q&A that Jason would say he's not really an actor.

umm... I just watched a video where JDF talks about how he had been doing things to get into acting since he was a kid. I think it was an interview for Power Rangers The Movie (the 90s one).

He mentions how he cut his hair short for a role and didn't get it and he had to grow it again.
