All the figures you mentioned (Trigun, Marvel, Toho) are modern in my book, I've been buying them since the line started, ie the Dante and Revy days. Only the pegged swivel joints have ever gotten loose for me amongst my 100+ figures, the ratcheted joints are all still clicky and they hold poses perfectly well.
Do you mean the peg (swivel) connections getting loose perhaps? Cause yeah, that happens, it's a friction connection so it's gonna happen sometimes. Pledge fixes it right up though, and once again, I've never experienced the ratchets getting loose.
