Is the toy industry dying because of tablets and computers?

I went to a toy store a while ago and nothing had changed since I was a kid, I mean really nothing, it had the same "spy kid" kind of toys, cash registers, cheap plastic figures, merchandise toys like disney etc.

Did the toy industry run out of new ideas in the early 2000s?
