They don't. Their distro capabilities are the same as any other giant toy manufacturer. It's the fault of regional buyers for the various retailers that sell the line. They don't have confidence in the DC merchandise that Mattel is making (and rightfully so). Mattel's WWE figures for example are pretty normal as far as distro goes on a nationwide scale, comparable to Marvel Legends, because regional buyers will always re-up on them and make sure demand is met. But in DC's case, the lack of regional buyer support in physical retail means that even online places like Amazon are hit hard, because the unsatisfied demand rolls onto them disproportionately and their algorithms drive the prices accordingly.

Boy, some versions of Clayface sure do look more like poop than others. I think the key to avoiding that look is choosing your shades of brown carefully and sticking with more of a melty, smooth look than this craggly wrinkly type of texture.

I'm not a fan of the nostrils either, I think it could have been a great headsculpt without those.

When Captain America Civil War happen the sales in Marvel Legends skyrocketed and even now with Infinity War we have three cases of MLs that sell out as fast as they get stock everywhere.
Compare that to DC where JL got poor reception so just like Green Lanter toys they are just clogging shelves because no one wants these heroes. Hell even Batman has taken a serious dive in popularity.

This. I'd blame it on Mattel as a company but when their WWE line has great distribution it's hard to say it's a "Mattel" problem. It's clearly that the brand has just done so poor over the last 5 years or so that retail just doesn't want to capitalize off it. Plus the horrible DC movies don't really help the brand at all unlike the MCU films do for Marvel/Hasbro.

This guy the one you are talking about or someone else? Arms have been fine over the 3+ years I’ve owned him and he hasn’t gotten sticky. Also he is Caucasian toned or at least mine is, with paint wash in his mold of an off yellow. Granted he has the “ice damage” all over him which has to be a big con to fans if him. I just bought him so my Cape figures had a gaint monster to fight. That and I love the mold detail and only pay just under $40 for him when Gamestop was doing a massive clearance special.

At this point, I'd love to see JazWare get the license and hope they do something better than Mattel has proven they won't.

Lol, no. WWE Basics and Elite, with their massive parts recycling and entire waves of repaints, are among the perennial top sellers in the toy aisle. It's strictly a DC problem.

This as well, honestly in a big bat fag (as thats why i bought two figures i didnt want for clayface), and i just want a line of batman and obscure villains like black mask, great white shark, ventriloquist, magpie, and KGBeast among others in stores. That would sell much more then what mattels doing now. Btw the quality for the new blue packaging figures is better, they have swappable hands and heads now. Two face comes with two hands with a good and scarred coin on each respectively.

Also im bored, i need a few minutes but if anyones interested i can show pics of clayface

A good portion of proposed projects were outright axed because they wanted us to focus on other characters.

I would say regardless of all other factors, if the property itself were white hot it would sell itself. Look at Marvel's figures. Even the Titan junk is a guaranteed seller. A Marvel 5 POA shitty figure could easily outsell an average 15 POA DC figure, no question.

It really is horrible, I was big into DCUC and when the Multiverse figures came out I was pretty excited for them. I bought the entire Justice Buster wave and most of the Doomsday wave and then distribution fell off a cliff. All of the stores near me are still choking on the Doomsday wave, Hawkman from the King Shark wave, and crappy movie figures from the past couple of DC films. I've been wanting the classic Bizarro that they announced like a year ago but there's still no word when that's coming out. I think that some interaction from Mattel like we had back in the DCUC days with Scott would help things out a lot as opposed to the radio silence we have now.

They did that before and DCUC sold like shit the last year. The CW figures were actually asked for by fans. They're not my cup of tea, but a lot of DC fans do want them. With the exception of a few, most sell well. I see more peg warmers from the DC films than from the CW shows.

It's more that it's just a bit better than the bar that was set in the late 90s. Which still puts it way above anything Hasbro was doing with the licence. The only figure that's truly exceptional is the indoraptor. If all the larger figures were like that, I'd be singing a different tune. Instead most the figures just get an extra arm joint that doesn't do much to help with potential poses on it's own.

Even when Hasbro downgraded their 1:18 line, they're still better than Mattel's JP shit. Hell, i saw Hasbro's dinosaurs being compared to the current JW dinos in one of these latest threads and they're better painted and have as much articulation, making me wonder why the first JW line gets ragged on.

Look at this shit. A ball jointed head that actually acts like it's on a ball joint. Better paint. Double fucking jointed knees. A ball jointed hip to get full range. Those fucking ankles for all types of posing.
