>>6953941People praised the prequels back in the day though.
people loved the characters, the designs, the settings.
They disliked the shitty dialog and some stupid characters, but overall, it was a positive experience.
People have disliked the new movies since day one. People actually forgave some forced bullshit, like Rey being Mary Sue, Finn turning out to be a good character, and the stupid good guys are underdogs again. Then TLJ completely shat the bed, with its unfunny opening, the slowest space battles ever with tissue filled with exploding shrapnel, Rey having nothing special about her so she's just a Mary Sue because she's a strong female character who's great at everything because, and Finn doing pointless actions that didn't develop his character or the plot, and then a former main character being the complete opposite of former self for the same reasons he was optimistic in the first films... to suddenly dying like he was forcing a giant shit after performing a technique that involved complete serenity
Sorry, but the new SW movies are not liked even by people today. The toys shelf warming are proof that kids do not like them, because main characters and villains are easy to find. Back during the prequels, characters like Darth Maul and kid Anakin were impossible to find. Just like today characters like Darth Maul were hard to find. Battle droids were also find as well. Whereas today I'm finding stock Ducktroopers being incredibly easy to army build, so even collectors aren't touching this shit, not just kids.
Just five years ago Hasbro and stores were making bank off of the series, including main female characters, selling out so easily.
Now main characters and army builders rot with non-speaking background characters on the shelves
