>>6957673>Omega Supreme in-universe is meant to separate into piecesAll that means is that he is canonically a partsformer. Just because something does it in the source material does not somehow exempt it from the term.
>It's just the nature of the characters like the Duocons.Duocons are a very different case than outright partsforming because they are comprised of two distinct and complete alt modes that don't come apart to transform into robot mode. Omega Supreme has most of his parts breaking down into multiple pieces to transform both two and from bot mode. Most notably, his tracks break up into multiple pieces, with the large gray chunks becoming his calves, the white pieces becoming wings, and the ramps that come off to form the shins. Then we have the rocket that breaks in half to become each of his forearms.
To reiterate, duocons are two vehicles that combine to form a complete robot, which separates to form two vehicles, with nothing being disassembled in the process. Omega Supreme is a base and tank which all comes completely apart and reforms into a robot, which, in turn, comes completely apart to reform into a base with a tank. Omega Supreme is therefore a partsformer, while the duocons are not.
