So now that they're confident enough in Dan selling that they're offering two versions, should they end up doing more human figures, who would you most like to see, no matter how unrealistic? >>6956801 For me i just really enjoy how much of a memorable character he was. The man sustained himself purely on the scenery he ate every time the camera was on him, and his overall story was great in that he went from being a rival, to antagonist, to ally and then to antagonist again without ever actually changing his character or learning a lesson. on that note... do you guys think Bandai will fix the odd shape and proportion discrepancies with Rogue before its release? They did it with Stalk but I'd say Rogue's actually is pretty different even in head shape and shoulder pads size and even the missing silver paint from part of his palm.

>is because even when I look side by side my stupid lizard brain says it's fine. The jaw that surrounds his head is actually shorter and wider in the suit. They also don't seem to be connected to the head on the SHF, as compared to the suit. His shoulder pads are also actually slightly different. His chest part/torso armor is actually thicker and more pronounced in the suit, with more leeway between where it ends, his ab and his belt.
Other than that, it's just a matter of width, like the suit being thicker and wider than the toy pics so far. He's also missing the silver paint on his hand parts in the SHF. Just hoping it turns out as well as it can.

>>6958696 Consider this: with the figure, they probably give it the proportions they would actually want this live action anime character to look like.

>>6958723 This is another thing with SHF that I wish was the case as well. Part of the charm in show too is how they each actually feel like they have different builds with how the costumes are designed. I understand that part of the cost saving is having the base mold/articulation body, just like how every W SHFSS release is actually the same body, it helps that it's an excellent base body.
>>6958735 I won't be the one to complain about super show accurate toys, I really won't be. What do you think I've been wishing for SHF Kamen Rider Black? As nice as the helmet and texturing is, he's just too skinny of a figure still for the renewal.

The entire art of it revolves around it being a ‘guy in a suit’, each suit’s proportions are extremely specific and designed to be depicted in live action(3D space),which can translate 1:1 to a figure, any discrepancies are the problem of the sculptor. I’m sure they’ll fix it.
>with the suit, they’re limited by the actor’s build. The suit was designed specifically for the actor, it wasn’t some premade design for like a cartoon where someone would have unrealistic proportions that they had to compromise on to get an actor into the suit

I am pretty certain that they sculpt the SHFs based on the concept arts they were sent, not the actual suits, left alone the suit actors. Human proportions also don’t translate well to figures, even the SS stuffs don’t do 1:1 suit accurate. They also want to reduce cost by reusing body/parts/mold which is why 1:1 suit accurate are never gonna happen, because unlike mold, different actors have different builds.

>>6959000 The live action anime bit was a joke.
And you are definitely wrong on the latter.
Albeit, they have very specific suit actors to fill these roles, it means nothing in terms of the suit's sculpting. If they need a fill-in, they bring a suit actor that fits. They don't make a new fucking suit. Was Ghost made specifically for Takaiwa's body (fuck you I know the suit is inherently fat already), but remade when he appeared as a face actor?

A suit actor having a slightly different physique from another has no bearing on the proportions of the jaws on either side of the head, for example.
>Human proportions also don’t translate well to figures, even the SS stuffs don’t do 1:1 suit accurate. It took me a while to even wrap my head around this due to how little sense it makes, but this is the same as saying “Human proportions don’t translate well to drawings” because it’s difficult to do accurately. It wasn’t as big a concern years ago to have the exact proportions of an actor, and they had wonky proportions because of the same reason american action figures all have bulging muscles; it was an action figure first, and a replica of the suit second(as well as limits of production, which have evolved exponentially in the last few years). But it’s not impossible somehow like you’re saying, and the intention has settled squarely on making the suit look as similar to the show as possible. The Shinkocchou Seihou are based off of Takaiwa’s skeleton ffs, so they’re pretty accurate proportions as far as a static sculpted version of an article of clothing can be. No, there isn’t something inherently preventing the proportions from being accurate. They have access to reference material far before the suit debuts on the show(they don’t make multiples of the suits a week before it airs, it’s done well ahead of time), as well as long after the suit has debuted to use even more reference material to finely tune the suit to be even more accurate.
