How's the NECA Mantis Alien? I have the Kenner original and love it, and I kinda want the update, but I've been burned by NECA before and I don't want to spend upards of £25 on a potential QC dud. I know some of NECA's figures are "safer" than others.

I love mine, the design is awesome and the sculpt is really good, you need a non included stand for him to stand up. Also I remember having to find one with even silver paint on the head( talking minimal unevenness I'm just a stickler) when I bought it so watch out for that. All in all, I think it's one of neca's better figures.

Thanks! Not planning to finish the body anytime soon, although the hardest part is somewhat done (save for building a technic substructure for a full scale body...) It was ~3 years of tinkering to get it right, and I could probably pour infinitely more time into it, if I wanted to. My other shots are all,uploaded,on Flickr, but here's one more smaller file for fun!
