Messed around with Acguy today; he's cute! But...

>>6964162 Oh, I forgot to mention that on the upside, Acguy's arm/shoulder articulation is excellent.
Alex, on the other hand, is just as good as everyone has been saying. Just a lovely RD, I like how they accurately scaled Alex to be slightly taller than the Zaku Kai! And unlike the Kai, all of Alex's joints articulate smoothly (though the Kai has been getting a little better as I work the joints).

>>6963080 >I put in a pre-order item that's months away and an item that's in stock, they'd ship that together right or would they do otherwise? I haven't had that situation myself, but I believe MyKombini will only ship stuff together that's available in the same month. So if you order an in-stock item, and then there's a pre-order coming out the same month, they will hold onto the in-stock item til your pre-order comes in (unless you ask them to ship in-stock items immediately).
On the other hand, if you order an in-stock item and pre-order an item that releases next month, then they will ship separately. You can read their shipping policy on their site, though the translation isn't the best (and slightly funny, haha):

I used to trust nippon yassan alot but after the dx chogokin case (bandai didn't send enough, but they kept telling customers they were getting more even though they weren't getting more) and otherwise eh customer service, mkb sounds like the better option, otherwise stalk mandarake for second hand ones (always some autist who doesn't like a slight dent in their pristine boxes) or use a proxy like "from japan" and buy direct, while paying commission and double shipping as you gotta ship it to them first then to yourself

>>6966367 Nice haul, anon! Regarding the Zaku's feet, I also had some difficulty with them at first, but now I find they're actually very stable with plenty of range of motion. The ankle joints are just so stiff that it takes a bit of work to ensure that you're getting the feet into a stable position. Whereas most figures you can just set down and press on the feet to get 'em flat, with the Zaku that won't entirely work due to the stiff joint. What's likely gonna happen is that you'll end up using the toe hinge (really the front-half foot hinge) to get half of the foot touching the ground, but the other half will be lifted.
The key is to make sure you've got the entire foot flat on the ground, and not just the front-half of the foot. I found this was causing nearly all my stability problems, as it felt like I had the feet flat, but in reality the heel was off the ground. The heel can come down quite a bit, you just need to get in there and work the ankle joint to get the foot into the right angle so the heel is flat on the ground.
>>6968080 Sutherland indeed just came out, though it was a webshop exclusive so you'll have the go to the secondary market for 'em.

>>6968791 My oldest MB is Exia, but the length and width of the boxes seem to have stayed pretty consistent. Al's box is definitely slimmer than the average MB box in terms of depth, but I think you can chalk that up to Al's accessories generally laying pretty flat/compact for easy packing.
>>6968799 >Just found out that HLJ put an order stop on my order even though it went through and was "in-stock" even after I placed it. Anon, I think you've misinterpreted something here. "Order Stop" is the stock status of the item itself, and that simply means HLJ is not taking any further orders. If the item shows up in your open order history, then you're A-OK. There's nothing wrong with your order. The order stop just prevents people from placing more orders.

>>6968950 >I understand what it means on the product page but what about when the order status says it? It always does that, you've got the item, don't worry. I've had things ordered that say Out of Stock or Backorders and always got them.
Anonymous
>>6968950 Again, it's only reflecting the status of the item itself. It really has no bearing whatsoever on the order you've actually placed, except to maybe discourage you from cancelling a preorder, heh.
Here's some of my open orders, and as you can see I've got a mix of stuff saying "order stop" while others say release dates. It doesn't really mean anything though, it's just telling me that for those "order stop" items, HLJ isn't taking more orders. I've been ordering from HLJ for going on 15 years and I've seen a lot of people get confused by this, but really, it's nothing to worry about. The order stop is just saying that HLJ ain't taking more orders, that's it.
Also, HLJ notes in its own FAQ that "order stop" doesn't affect prior orders:
https://support.hlj.com/hc/en-us/articles/203851740-Order-Stop Anonymous
>>6968959 >>6968963 I guess I'm the idiot here, sort of. It's really confusing when the order status itself says order stop and not just the product page. Not sure why they wouldn't have a different set of statuses for your orders...

>>6969036 Shelving, lots of shelving, haha. I generally put stuff back into its box when I'm not playing with it, and then that box goes back on the shelf. This room is dedicated to storage and I have it ringed with ten of these bookcases. The room also has a walk-in closet with built-in shelving and drawers, plus I have a work island in the center of the room with more shelving. Got more space around the house I could use (some stuff is in the garage), but I try to keep it to one room. So I have plenty of storage space for my toys, but I don't really have a proper display going on. Apologies for not giving a full look as we've got other non-/toy/ stuff stored in here, but it's basically just boxes all over so it ain't too interesting. Doesn't help that I didn't put much thought into placing things while unpacking after the move, but I'm gradually rearranging things so it's a bit more organized.
I did leave some of the lower shelves open for loose toys, but the primary purpose I had in mind was still storage as I mostly use those shelves for stuff that won't go back into a box easily (ie built Lego sets) or stuff I'm just too lazy to put back into a box (ie valks I've transformed to battroid and have forgotten how to transform back to fighter for storage, haha). I do keep some stuff out because I want to play with it or just like having it on-hand (generally the newest stuff I get), but that's rotated out fairly regularly just as
>>6969233 described.

So, uh, absent making a new thread this seems to be the best place to talk about these:

Only one I've found any info on so far is the Zenith, which is coming in urban and desert camo schemes. I can't quite figure out how big they're supposed to be however, let alone if they've said anything about more coming. I wouldn't trust that stand with basically supporting the entire weight of the unit for long, that's for sure, and a pose like what you have is close enough to that to invite risk.

>>6974394 Just checked mine and I can wiggle the forearm armor a tiny bit on both arms, but that just feels like a side effect of how the armor is attached to the forearm, so it didn't seem unusual to me. I didn't have any issues with jiggling at the elbow joint or anything.
>>6974887 Yea, the Drakens sold separately as web-exclusives really killed my enthusiasm for this release. Not that big on the Draken look for the 31s, and having to pay all the extra fees associated with a separate web-exclusive for something I'm not that into didn't seem worthwhile. Better to let someone who missed the 31F the first time get a shot at it.

>>6986107 >>6986115 So I did more futzing around with the 78-1 and G-Fighter and found a couple workarounds.
The backpack and verniers won't come off but there is a way to get g-bull to work. There is a bottom and top faux chest that snaps over the chest of the Gundam. The bottom piece is what hits the verniers so if you leave it off then it works. The core fighter fits in there no problem.
For the g-sky and g-armor the crotch connection can fit into the peg hole but it puts the legs on too much of angle to fit inside. You can rotate the legs 180 and angle them up, with a little luck you can get them all the way in. Another way to make it work is to just leave the crotch connector out completely, the g-armor mode works just fine without it. As long as you don't aim it down the legs will be fine in the g-sky.
One last thing to watch out for, the skirt gun mount on the 78-1 gets in the way of everything but if you rotate it forwards towards the chest vents everything should fit.

RX 78-2 is pretty outdated within it's own line: -Less accessories than Full Armor and Proto -Bazooka is outdated now thanks to the effect parts on Proto Gundam -Not compatible with Full Armor Parts (First Touch is, but that was exclusive, and had even less accessories) Outside of G-Fighter compatibility (which Full Armor also has), and colors there's really no reason to get it now.

Anonymous
>>6987941 It wouldn't be a problem but the lines main gimmick is interactivity between relases, accuracy to the show, and high articulation.
I'm just surprised they haven't done a V2.
Anonymous
>>6987983 Oh, and that most of the line has figures coming packed with stuff for the original Gundam.
Anonymous
>>6987983 >>6987986 The fact it can't use Full Armor parts isn't really an issue as I guess it shouldn't be using them anyway.
Bazooka is bit of a pain but I guess you could just use the proto one if you really had to switch it.
An option pack of weapons and effect parts would be a nice way to solve that issue though.
Anonymous
>>6988015 Maybe just release a RX-78/2 Definite Edition when they stop releasing stuff from the first show. The option pack would just be an exclusive and harder to get.
Anonymous
>>6988022 >RX-78/2 Definite Edition P-Bandai
Anonymous
>>6988026 Would they? They've released stuff normally despite it being a terrible idea on previous occasions, like Twin Mover Vifam and the L Gaim Spiral Booster.

So... anyone own a ANIME GM and G Fighter? I haven't seen any mention if it being compatible or not. The only bit that looks like it might cause issues is the skirt.

Is Diamond Select Pacific Rim wave 2 still going to be released?? Preorders say a July release, which is fucking strange since PR2 has come and gone a while ago.... the only thing I can think of is the blue ray of PR2 comes out in a few weeks, maybe DST hopes wave 2 will get sales from that, they had a wave 3 planned but that seems unlikely with the way the movie bombed.

I'm just hoping for A blue 're release of the full armor gundam

Can someone take a picture of the tiny Souske Sagara from the Arblest’s accessories? Hopefully next to a coin or something. I’m on the fence about getting it, and my desire may come down to how it will fit in terms of scale with the rest of my collection.

I'm new to this sort of genre and I've been torn between gunpla or pre-built ones. Posability and customisation is a big plus for me and while gunpla has that, I'm not sure I can afford all the paints and shit

>>6985548 I bought quite a few of them. They can be retardedly fiddly (many of their leg or shoulder joints wore down even with minimal use), but the other snobs are right: fantastic detail, great articulation (on some of them). Some of tm are definitive for any collection (the special coating version of the Sazabi fucking shits all over every non-model kit iteration of the suit out there, easily besting the MSiA, EMSiA, and in my opinion, even the Damashii).
That having been said, I largely regret collecting them. They just costed way too much to get up here. There's very few that I'm actually proud to display.

>>6988880 As long as you're buying fairly modern kits (like say, made within the last 3-5 years or so), you don't really need to paint them. Color separation and multi-color injection molding has gotten advanced enough that most kits look good right out of the box. You might want to panel line them to bring out the recessed detail more, but that only costs like $3-4 or whatever for a gundam marker or Sakura Micron.
Pretty good recent example: this is the HG Barzam and Mk.II Titans, both straight builds with no panel lining or stickers.
Anonymous
>>6988906 >even the Damashii That RD Sazabi was pretty shit even by the standards of its day. I hope one day the ANIME line will take a crack at it.
Anonymous
>>6988925 >you don't really need to paint them Just be prepared to have to use the terrible stickers for the time they decide to not give you a part in the correct colour.

They shouldn't be used for larger parts because they cheaped out on color separation.

>>6988880 My advice is to collect one or two recent releases of both kit and prebuilt figure then decide desu. I have r/gunpla tier of building skills so i prefer prebuilt more. Collecting both is also an option, since RD doesn't do newer Gundam seasons (like Thunderbolt/Build series) anymore, i would kill for a prebuilt RX Zeromaru or Atlas.

>>6989199 It happens, but like I said, MOST kits look good right out of the box. Every so often, yes, you will get a poorly thought out sticker-heavy mess, but thankfully, it's a relative rarity these days. Most of the recent HGs I've bought have had very small stickers only, or optional ones. In any case, just check out a review before buying and you'll know the sticker situation.

>>6989143 True enough yeah.
What shocked me was the overall hit-or-miss quality of the EMSIA line in general. The issues I had with HCM Pro were largely regarding quality control (why did my Hizack have tighter joints than my HeavyArms? And why was the Qubeley loose as absolute fuck all over the place?).
Contrast this with the EMSIA line of flaws which seemed more fundamental. I have two Freedom Gundams, and the wings on both sag like dead hookers tits. I feel like if they weremy made of the same dense plastic as the main figure was, it'd be a lot better.

>>6990666 Funnily enough, lately I have been increasingly disappointed with the detail level of RDs. With a kit, I have the skills to paint tiny details in and get as intricate as I like. Therefore making kits the more "premium" looking choice for me despite their lower price.
The only thing I can still really give RDs is their articulation, which is typically better engineered than a lot of plamo.

>>6990666 But Captain, you say that like it's a wholly bad thing. It really isn't when designs I very much want in a more solid or animation accurate state won't come along as RD for a while, as opposed kits that are close enough (sadly only 1/2 of pic-related).
By-and-large the point of MKs these days is to allow for that freedom of customization (though like 1/2 of pic-related some are cheap cash grabs) for how you want it to look, while RDs primarily give you that durability and/or non-stylized look (mainly the A.N.I.M.E. line).
...Man I really want these two as accurate RD.

There's also
tfh.com.sg their stock availability is all up there and you can reserve for self pickup
PRU RDs are available at TRU and most department stores, on weekends many of them have 20% off storewide.

Looking to get the diaclone maneuver gamma. Anyone got experience with diaclone?
Anonymous
>>6993427 Diaclones is great, they're half the size of a typical RD but they have neat little details, the pilot themselves have tiny magnets on their feet so they can stay on anything magnetized. The little slots around a Diaclone is 3mm so anything with a 3mm peg will fit like pic related, that huge back thing there was from some M.S.G kits I cobbled up. The only real problem is the price is just to expensive for what you get. You pay almost double the price of a HG kit for something that is half the size of it. And also a Maneuver by itself won't be much fun unless you get others sets like the Trailer and the bigger mechs.
Anonymous
>>6993452 Hmm it seems half decent then. Is it worth getting the maneuver with the trailer then?
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>6993456 I would recommend it at least for a start. There's the Diabattles and the Big Powered but we should start small first. It has seats for more Diapilots, a small vehicle that can become an independent off-roader. And what is not shown on pic related because that particular Diaclone doesn't come with, the little storage box that Diaclones like the Gamma come with and store inside can be pegged on the back of the trailer on the right.
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>6993456 The trailer is Big Powered GV's legs with different accessories, you're kinda missing out on most of its functionality if you don't have Big Powered.
Diaclone Reboot as a whole uses similar engineering as Transformers. They are also priced like MP Transformers and distributed by Hasbro Asia outside Japan, like Transformers.
