>>6981578Okay, I watched this one and your Godzilla one to get a feel for your channel and have the following feedback:
- The pirate theme is odd, but it seems to pervade the entire channel, so go off I guess. If you're going to keep it I would lean into it even further, like set up a little lightbox backdrop for reviews with sand and a few rocks and a little plastic crab or something. This might also up your production value, cause right now wherever you're filming just looks like the corner of a kitchen or something.
- Your tone of voice and pacing are a little stiff sometimes, sounds like you're reading from a script. Try to practice sounding more natural. Which leads me right into...
- The fatalistic humor feels especially forced and tacked on. Whee, jokes about killing yourself, are we in 2011? It doesn't fit your schtick, I would cut these out.
- It gets rather boring just watching the figure rotate endlessly as you talk over it. You spliced some clips in and showed the Roddy action figure, but as a whole, I was just staring at the toy slowly spinning most of the time. Man, show off the range of the joints, fire those missiles to show us the power and range, remove Godzilla's armor so we can see what he looks like naked. You need something more going on visually, it's pretty stale right now.
- Zooming in to show more detail on the figures is a nice touch.
Overall, it's not really too bad. It's not annoying, which seems to be a huge hurdle that many YouTubers can't make it past. Just needs a little work. I'm also kind of puzzled as to your target audience--the toys you're reviewing are all over the place and old and bizarre, and your channel is over half full with lets plays and other random videos. It's going to be tough to build a following that way.
