>>7024102here's a thorough vid that I followed:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2ogJkjjuC0&t=2sSimplified:
1. Get piece you want to cast
2. Stake down to foam board and use a cylindrical (or square, it doesn't matter) container to house the rubber mold around the piece.
3. First spray Polytek Pol-Ease 2500 release agent otherwise the rubber will stick to your piece. Mix 1:1 Polytek Silicone Rubber, Platsil 73-15, parts A & B and pour into your mold container. Let sit, dries within probably 15 minutes but it's good to let sit overnight probably.
4. Carefully cut slit and pull out your piece from the solidified rubber, and make sure you pull out the picks. In the video he used them for air passages to avoid bubbles that could form on the cast.
5. Mix Polytek EasyFlo 60 Liquid Plastic parts A & B, 1:1. This stuff heats up as the chemicals mix so be careful, do not let this get on your skin or eyes and try not to breathe it in. It starts to set and harden within minutes so act fast. It looks clear but will soon harden and turn white so use disposable containers and tools to mix. Pour into your mold until it overflows on the top a little, let sit for maybe 10 minutes.
6. Pull out finished mold and sand until satisfied.
All the chemicals are on amazon, and they are not cheap. The spray, parts A & B of both plastic resin and silicone rubber will total almost $150, but I'm sure you can find alternatives of these for different prices.
