I just got my first MOTUC SUPER 7 figure and it's the first action figure I've owned in a long time and holy shit I'm blown away by how articulate they are vs the 5 poa batman toys I had as a kid. Any recommendations on which figures to stay away from and which ones are good?

When it comes to MOTUC my only advice on what to stay away from is anything with clear plastic for a major body piece. Roboto, Cy-Chop, and Goddess all have MAJOR widespread issues of cracking or outright shattering in their clear areas (Roboto and Cy-Chop in the chest, Goddess in the pelvis).

Other than that, MOTUC is a 10/10 line.

Like that other anon said, Roboto and Cy-Chop (Roboto more though) also some of the figures from the early Mattel waves (Optikk, Tri-Klops, Trap Jaw) suffer from extremely loose joints. It varies from figure to figure though.

I mean they're all more or less on the same buck but some of my favorites are;
Draego Man, Optikk, Trap Jaw, Fisto, Procrustus, Filmation Skeletor, as well as Ultimate He-Man, Skeletor and Faker (if I had them :'( )

Many of the cheaper MOTUC figures are because they are not main Filmation characters. However, they tend to be really cool, so they are worth picking up. Count Marzo is one of My favorites.

I like Motu, but not really the actual figures and I don't actually know much about the show. They're a bit too cartoony for my taste (rightfully so of course) but I like the characters and the over the top aesthetic. So really any Motu figures I have are from other lines. Although I do have Batros who I got for like a few dollars off ebay, also the big eagle ship and the little castle part with it.

Yeah I caught reruns of the original but mostly I just like the weird campy techno viking aesthetic. So I ordered He-Ro II, Sweet Bee, I got the Molar set on order because really I want the hair to put on someone else and I get a Skeletor out of it. I was also thinking of the Battle Ram or Wind Raider. Count Marzo looks really cool too.

They're good, don't sweat it. The only weapons I've had that got fucked were stress marks on the handles of the halved power swords, but that's because Mattel packed them up terribly in the bubble and they came that way. Lots of people had those issues. Never had an issue with clear weapons, not even Huntara's clear lightsabers.

Weird suggestion, but seriously consider buying the minicomics collection by dark horse. it completely changed my outlook on MOTU as a franchise. Before hand I regarded it as a line of awesome toys with a shitty cartoon, but it's genuinely at its core a badass collection of minicomic stories with some seriously wild and amazing characters that just work despite all the jumbled together genres, along with a shitty cartoon and a decent reboot. The DC comics are amazing, too.

Got Quakke a few days ago. It's awesome, but man alive is that a night and day difference in terms of plastic quality from Mattel's old formula. It's more gummy now, like a Marvel Legends figure.

Not really. The problem is multi-faceted. First, the boulder thing is super fucking heavy two solid pieces rather than hollow. Second, it only attaches one way onto the staff, and barely at that since it's via 3 small holes that don't even really provide any grip for the staff. And third, the wrists just aren't set up to allow a wide degree of action oriented poses with the staff, meaning you're more or less locked into him posing it across his body rather than slamming it in front of him properly. So you have a really heavy thing at the end of a long poll that doesn't even attach very well and wrists that can't maneuver it. It was terribly conceived and executed.

BUT, the figure itself is awesome and I would rank it right up there with Optikk as the best mutant to date if not even better. The design really is just that damned great, absolutely solid aesthetics. Really, really hoping for more Space Mutants at SDCC.

This. I like the source material and most of the figures but the overall fan base for this line is shit. They're complete morons who can't stand it when someone calls out S7 on their shit. I'm glad I don't go to the org any more.

I grew up with He-man, but I owned a good chunk of figures before ever seeing the cartoon. The mini comics were the canon I attached to the mythos.

When I finally got to watch the show, I hated it for being retarded as hell. I was 7.

I've seen speculation that it is going to be coming out around the time Stridor is released, so like august or something. But it's S7 we're talking about, so maybe that'll be august 2019 for all we know.

They finished all the a-list characters years ago and I think more or less completed updating the vintage toys except a few larger vehicles. All they really had left were one-episode Filmation characters, NA characters when NA isn't really that popular(which is sad because NA Skeletor was a better-written villain than the "I'm evil with no redeeming qualities" Filmation version), and MYP one-offs, outside of Filmation versions. This is why S7 opened with reissues but now it's just c- and d-listers and Filmation rehashes. The only reason people are looking forward to new Sorceress is because the original sells for a fortune and had dumb gimmick wings.... but it's S7 so it'll probably shatter.

Toyguru also opened up big time on how shit things were run, how the execs mandated shit like no 200X, and then claimed he was the one responsible. He-man.org turned on him for daring to not praise Matty., and calling him a liar for not disclosing things he signed a NDA on, because he should apparently be happy to pay hefty fines to disclose things the whiny fanboys don't want to hear.

And honestly I don't care because so many of the popular characters scalp for so much and I hate S7's mentality, I'd rather own the vintage toys.

That's pretty much a fact. He has to kiss their ass or face their wrath. He's even said that if Mattel wanted to they could take ownership of He-Man.Org since they own the trademark. I don't understand why but he has made that claim in the past.
