I actually have that set in front of me right now.
As for my favorite Techic set, out of the ones I own (which is not many), it's got to be 42042 Crawler Crane, but overall, it's gotta be 42056 Porsche 911 GT3 RS and 42083 Bugatti Chiron. Unfortunately, I don't have >$650 in disposable income right now, so I can't swoop them up yet.

I was able to get the Unimog and Monster Truck sets, and had planned to combine them, though I never got around to doing so before needing the parts.

I should try a truck trial MOC, and once I can get that new part from the kickass blue sports car set I could give it an automatic transmission, or just an easy manual one with a little motor in it.

Not really in to Technic anymore, because there's just too much stuff out there. The flagship sets are super impressive, but I still like regular System sets better.

Back in the day it was basically the Lego equivalent of Mecano with nearly 100% focus on the mechanical aspect and very little attention to the aesthetics. This can be seen in the mostly "skeletal" look of the older Technic sets.

This has changed somewhat in recent years with the introduction of more panel pieces to cover things up.

I think this has only been partly succesful. On the one hand a lot of sets look somewhat better by adding these pieces, on the other hand though it has created a bigger rift between Technic and System sets. A lot of the newer Technic parts are almost completely useless in the classic System, making Technic sets less attractive for people who are mostly in to System.

Also, Lego is now creating some Technic sets that arguably have a bigger focus on aesthetics than mechanics. In my opinion, they are missing an opportunity to combine Technic and System to get the best of both worlds (i.e. mechanics and aesthetics). Clearly Technic works best for specific vehicles like cranes and tracked vehicles. I feel it does not work as well for supercars like the Porsche and the Bugatti.

Why not have the internal mechanics done completely in Technic and combine it with a shell in System?

Apparently, Denmark enforced a tax that meant LEGO needed to charge more for their sets to make up for it and don't forget that this is a set based on a pre-existing franchise, there's got to be some royalty fees that had to be paid to make this happen.

My favourite was a set from 60's or so that my grandparents had. It was basically just axles, cogs, pulleys etc. but you could do all kinds of cool shit with just that. Pic related has the kind of wheels im talking about.

What kind of 16-year-old is still building lego according to the kit? If you're in high school and still playing with legos, you'd better be
