So I recently got into collecting the FBG figures, posted them in the display thread and there were 1 or 2 people interested in them. Anyone else collect this?

Also I know it's kinda sorta statueshit but fuck it. Will post more if people ask for it. Still waiting on Hana, Gen and Honjou

Those are great, I especially love that Zetton. I've never tried to get into them because honestly they seem to be hard to find but the only other option for getting a bunch of the Crows x Worst guys is Chara heroes and the bigger, more detailed ones are what I would go for.

If you can, just say "it's actually easy to find and buy them", even if it's not true. That's all I ask.

I would try to find pic related (or that sweet fucking Zetton) first if I was ever going to buy some.

Actually they ARE easy to find if you can read / write Japanese. I got all of these from Mercari and Yahoo auctions via a proxy.

They are EVEN easier if you have shit loads of cash to blow for the more popular characters.

Oh that's actually a good source, I found Jun for a decent price there compared to auctions. Be warned though, shipping is killer, I staggered the shipping so I only ever had 4 sent at a time. They came in a box big enough to fit those old chunky TVs. I was kinda shocked honestly. Shipping came to about 6000yen on its own.

Also posting some details on the Zetton for starters, some advise, I only paid 1500jpy for this in the packaging, so after shipping and handling fees probably... 4k yen at max? Don't be fooled and pay the 5k some people are asking BEFORE shipping

God these figures really do like nice, I recently re-read Crows and was really itching for some figures. They really are annoying to find though.
I'd still love a Bulldog, Harumichi and definitely Rindaman at some point, from what I've seen he seems to be the most expensive.
Really regret not buying a RAH Harumichi that was on Amazon for like £40 or something stupid.

Rindaman is as elusive as the character himself. At least 200 dollars or more, madness.

BTW I'm talking about the later DIVE productions, there is an older wave of FBGs that look like dollar store toys those are terribly sculpted.

Also pity on that RAH, that's a hell of a steal.

I just watched it a few weeks back, in the scene where he threw the giant dart wearing this shirt he was wearing black slippers haha, in others he changed to the gakuran so it's different. I'm sure he does walk barefoot though since he is a slob anyway. Was just curious haha, this way I get to display him both ways!

I used Japonica, but theres also vvjapan, see which you prefer, these two are quite reputable.

But note that japonica has no account interface, everything is through email but they are super responsive and helpful.

This is still kind of daunting without knowing much about the line and needing myfigurecollection's database to hold my hand as I try to get them. It helps very much searching the character name in Kanji and adding FBG on Google images, it shows you pretty much what's released out there. For example if I wanted to search for bulldog I would search 古川修fbg.

Once I found a figure I wanted, I will search that in mercari and YAJ. If that doesn't show what I want I will then search just the character name, then followed by クローズfbg, followed by クローズ as the last resort if I still can't find anything.

At this point you then pray to whatever higher being or belief system you have that someone out there will sell the item you are looking for eventually. Like how I am waiting for a 村田十三 to appear now.

Also if you like, I personally find the recent series like Crows Zero has more polished artwork that looks different but still has the edge to it that the original series had.

There are also spinoff series like Gaiden and that oneshot commemoration one that you could read as a side story kinda thing.

On a related note I hope my Hana and Gen come in today, then all that's left is Honjou (Pon), pics later hopefully!

One thing I really hate about these is that clamshell packaging that needs to be cut open.

This is nothing to do with scalping or whatever but tastes and circumstances change and it sucks you take a huge chunk of resell value out by opening it.

I agree to a certain extent, these figures still go for a decent price loose and oob. I think the reason is people who are reselling them got them at initial retail value which was maybe 4k yen at most, and selling them now for 5k yen including shipping if its the more popular characters.

Tldr we were too late to the game to resell at profit, just have to stick to our guns.

Also side note I wonder if anyone can tell that I did touch up work on Bouya. Gave the face more shading and matte coated the whole figure, it was originally a bit glossier lol
