Starscream isn’t a /huge/ deal since I can dig up some other decepticon planes, though it would be nice to identify a team that makes sense for his character as the only non-hivemind combiner (either with all poor fools he duped into becoming limbs, or with all victims he forcibly took over against their will).
Elita-1 kinda pisses me off because she has the potential to be a good feminine combiner, and looks more like an actual “stronk, independent woman” than the try-hard blocky, butch monstrosity that we got by listening to what “fans” want for Victorion; yet the only limbs we’re getting for Elita, Pistacchio Almond and Fireball Jawbreaker, are the same mold, with one being nearly a perfect match to Elita’s colors and the other being almost exactly opposite the color spectrum. We already got a (blocky as hell) Headmaster Arcee with Titans Return, so even if the POTP waves weren’t already decided we wouldn’t be getting her as combiner; and Hasbro isn’t releasing any other combiner fembots even though we theoretically have several others we could work with between Chromia, Windblade, and Nautilus.
All I want is Lord Emperor Tyrant Starscream and Kinda Hot But Also Super Competent Hivemind Harem Elita. Having the ability to mix and match other combiners is great, but we’re so close to having complete themes for these two that it seems like a waste to have to decide which Autobot dude is going to have to pretend to be a Decepticon jet or a fembot limb. The combiners just feel...incomplete, like they have to rely on the charity of more complete teams in order to function.
(Maybe that’s actually the case for Elita, if the designers are as pissed off at feminist fans for Victorion as I am.)
