So let's talk about human figures! Theres 2 unknown legacy humans (FLN34 & FLN36) and 1 unknown basic human (FMM03) that have SKUs. I know these arent 100% confirmed but what do you guys speculate?

My guess for legacy would be Tim and Lex (though I'd rather get a Nedry), and Mills for the basic human (I don't want a Mills but he's the biggest FK character not yet in figure form)

That sucks. It's a shame DQ bogarted the license and then didn't even give us anything easier to collect and keep from it.

My only hope is that someone actually manages to get higher-res art of the actual cup art like this one and maybe we can get some nice homebrew posters out of the deal.

I like the idea of them on paper- being a blue collar divorced couple pretending to be a rich still-married couple and the son being resourceful as fuck to survive on his own, but nothing about them really stands out in the actual movie. It's probably because none of them really have much to do beyond "run from dinosaurs" which everyone else in the series already does anyway.

It's really just a testament to JP3's inability to come up with an intriguing plot or really anything memorable. There's a cast of great actors and they all get kind of lost because the movie has no idea what it wants to do with them. Macy and Jeter usually stand out in any movie they're in but the movie doesn't really do anything memorable with them.

Apparently the movie was still being re-written up to when they started shooting, so the production itself seemed pretty troubled.

Maybe if they had actually gotten their ducks in a row and realized the kind of film they wanted to make earlier, they could have made it stand out more.

I heard rumors that maybe Billy was originally going to be some kind of InGen/Biosyn spy instead of just an over-zealous archaological student, and that could have been cool.

As it is the only thing I even remember about Billy is that he had my least favorite moment in the movie- he says "they actually set a trap!" in this hushed amazed voice while he's literally in danger and the dude who the raptors are using as bait is fucking suffering. The way the actor delivers it makes it sound like he's seeing a brachiosaurus for the first time not stuck in the middle of a life or death situation where people have died and he may be next.

People have been saying it's not screen accurate forever and that the new one supposedly is, but I can't tell the difference and nobody's ponied up any comparison pictures, either between the movie version and the current figure, or the new figure and either of them.

The people who whined about the Allosaurus at least had the decency to cough up comparison pictures and proved their point, I'm not convinced the Indoraptor complainers aren't full of crap yet.

A week or two ago, but it's so new that a lot of stores either might not have it, or got hit by scalpers early. Coincidently, apparently the new Roarivores are being mixed in with the existing ones, so there's not as much of them yet as one would expect.

On the plus side, Walmart still has roarivores on rollback so if you do find one there, it'll be cheaper.

Overall, I'd say to be patient if you can't find it, I think they're going to trickle in and eventually be as easy to find as the previous Roarivores.

Indoraptor had an interesting backstory but in practice it was basically just Indominus Junior (which he pretty much literally was anyway). There's a sense of sympathy in the concept as the director mentioned, with it being a poorly socialized and frustrated creatured that lived its entire life in a cell but that sympathy doesn't really shine through in the movie itself and it's basically just another monster to run away from.

If anything, the movie makes it seem like he's sadistic. Our first real impression of his personality is him pretending to be tranquilized so he can kill a guy and even wagging his tail excitedly and practically winking at the camera. The guy had it coming for sure but that also sets Indo up as a creature that likes to fuck with people and kill them. Plus while he's stalking Maisie he seems less concerned with actually killing her and more concerned with just scaring her, even slowly creeping his claws towards her like he's Freddy Krueger. Nothing about his behavior in the movie points towards that frustration of a cage animal and everything seems to paint him as being another super-dinosaur that kills for fun, just like Indominus.

I feel like they also did this weirdly with the Indominus Rex, too. They made a point of talking about how it was a cross between social/pack dinos and ate it's sibling and was raised in captivity which all probably messed it up, and then the second it got out it started going through the park like a berserker, but then it was also intelligent and used the Raptors for it's own ends.

Basically it was hard to get a read on what was even up with the Indominus other than whatever it needed to be scary and unpredictable at any given moment.

Meanwhile at least with the Indoraptor, they showed us a bit more of it's specific brand of wit and sadism(it might not have been the most intelligent hunter, but it sure knew how to have fun), but it was still lacking a certain something.

I think maybe in both cases, we needed something a little more if they wanted the dinosaurs to be characters and not just monsters, though. I feel like maybe it'd have helped if they either did more to cement them as just flat-out psychotic dinosaurs, or gave them a concrete endgoal to help us connect in some way.

The worst part was that making Blue the last one wasn't even necessary- they established that Blue was needed because she had specific traits they needed and had already been semi-trained, all they needed to do was say "well yeah there's other raptors but none of the others really work for what we need because they weren't raised to interact with humans." According to the wiki there IS an explanation for Sorna but it's retarded: when they started building Jurassic World they not only rounded up all of the dinos on Nublar, but on Sorna as well, so Sorna is now vacant. Not only does that not explain why Sorna was no longer a protected sanctuary, but it also doesn't explain why there aren't more rexes and raptors. So all of the dinos from TLW and JP3 were apparently killed off between movies.

There was at least some logic to this with Jurassic World, where we could just explain the discrepancy by imagining that JW just pretends TLW and JP3 didn't happen (like the Halloween movies keep doing). It's stupid but at least explains why Sorna is completely ignored and why everyone pretends Hammond didn't become an advocate for letting the dinos live in peace, and why Rexy is still around despite TLW implying that the animals on Nublar were destroyed (if you treated the deleted board room scene as canon).

But then comes Fallen Kingdom which suddenly remembers Hammond's development and we suddenly have a half-assed explanation for Sorna, so now we can't pretend that the movies were ignoring TLW and JP3.

Even if you don't, the movie's entire plot hinges on Site B being the only island where dinosaurs have survived, hence why InGen goes there to round them up. Hammond even says "thank God for Site B" which only really makes sense if Site A isn't an option anymore. So even if you don't treat that scene as canon, the implications are still there.

My assumption is that they wanted to try just one articulation-focused figure as a market test, and the Indoraptor seemed a natural fit given it's a pretty flexible dinosaur that works on two legs or four, and the next best dinos for it(Raptor and T-Rex) already got gobs of other merch.

The Colossal only has better detailing through the virtue of it being fuckin' proportionally huge.

Anyway, it depends on your needs. Do you want it to play with other figures? Super Colossal is way out of scale with all the other JP figures, but can work with unrelated bigger figures. Meanwhile, EC is only slightly smaller than the proper scale. Do you value articulation or gimmick? EC is the most articulation we've gotten in a Rex in who knows how long, and SC is about the gimmick of being huge and having things crammed down it's maw.

If price is a concern, then EC wins flat-out.

I agree the movie was bad. The pretext for getting Claire and Owen to the island was pretty dumb. Claire was there because they needed her handprint to use the computer? What kind of bullshit was that? Hack the computers. If they had some sort of nth-level security where they couldn't hack it but absolutely needed her hand print, hire someone to murder her on the mainland and hack off her hand or something(not saying that should have happened but they had options especially considering they were going to leave her for dead anyway).

And the point of getting access to the computer was to track Blue, and they then needed Owen because supposedly nobody except him could get close to Blue. Fine. Gas the entire area. Go to spot where Blue's tracker said she was. Not hard.

The whole auction plot was dumb dumb dumb. First of all they charged almost nothing for the dinos, considering the expense they surely had to go to get them off the island. And the mansion conveniently had a giant lab sub basement that could house dozens of dinos?? When was all that built??

The cloned daughter was dumb and didn't reflect how cloning actually works(you don't get exact copies).

Personally I didn't MIND that it was a bad movie, I went in for dumb dinosaur eating human action and that's what I got and I was satisfied, but it WAS a bad movie IMO.

Okay now I'm back on track. I love JW2 as well as JP3, people have too high of standards because of how incredible JP1 was. It was an awesome in theatre watch with tons of odes or callout to the original films. A great mix of edge of your seat action/thriller with comedy to make you laugh when you're all nervous. Its a cookie cutter formula but works great haha.

From what I remember the plan as Lockwood knew it was to bring them to the estate until that new island or whatever was ready for them, so that would explain why they had holding cells for them.

This I have to agree with. I follow football/soccer, seeing that players there already go for 100+ million Euros, this just didn't make sense.

And of course I know this isn't a cinematic masterpiece. But I thoroughly enjoyed myself with what we got. I got out of the cinema with completely satisfied, which is more than can be said about a lot of previous cinema visits. For that I applaud the movie.

This is unrealistic and stupid. Realistically though we should demand a really cool visitor center playset with break apart skeletons in the lobby, a lab on the top floor and a kitchen on one side and a computer room on the other. It's really the only iconic actual environment in the JP films and so many scenes and actions happen there that it would be perfect to jam pack things in.

I wish I could demand a lockwood playset, but I was shocked by how drab and uninteresting the basement levels, lab and dino containment areas were. Outside of the museum floor there's not much to work with there even with things like dino cages and break apart walls.

It's because the legacy line is a target exclusive, so they're not going to put as much effort into it as they would a more widespread release. That being said, the battle damage figures are also a walmart exclusive and they're pretty well done.

Spino is only anticipated since it isn't out yet. Don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic figure that is gonna sell well, but the EC rex is doing extremely well, as are the matchbox and human figures. Spino hype is gonna die down to regular levels once the figure hits stores.

So far the only thing that wasn't regularly restocked were the Legacy Humans, and now they've come back in again, and for all we know might be in regular stocking now.

But they've been planning out this line to last into next year and possibly beyond, and have been supplementing lines with new figures instead of replacing them for the most part, so I can imagine if you live in a place with a few different stores, you shouldn't have problems for a while.

They basically started building sets and dinos without a finished script. And they basically throwing concepts from reject scripts, unused scenes from previous movies and some OC stuff
That's why it doesn't really make sense in the great scheme of things. Also shortest Jurassic Park movie, almost no introduction to Spinosaurus, he's just a serial killer at this point.
A lot of deleted scenes also, like the fight with the T-rex was actually longer, the river scene also had some cool shots of the spino emerging from the water and so on.
Everyone who worked on this movie admitted they didn't had a credible idea to continue the story after TLW
And somehow, people prefer this movie over Jurassic World.

I don't know if this is the same for others, but for me it's a case where the haphazard script basically stumbled into being passable enough for me to ignore it, and JPIII had just enough really cool moments(some harkening back to JP novel scenes we never got to see in film) to offset the stupid ones to make it competitive with JP2 being a legit better movie. Not to mention, Alan Grant himself is still a pretty big draw, and even if it was dumb, him getting suckered back to a dinosaur island in the stupidest way possible on a family mission with nothing to do with Ingen was kind of charming.

That, and the Spinosaurus was honestly a really fun case of an(at the time) all-new and interesting dinosaur getting to be the focus of a film, and I still love the big murder machine enough to ignore the fact that half the reason it was used was because of someone's inexplicable T-Rex grudge.

Plus, William H. Macy and his fucking moustache. I mean, look at it.

Basically I recognize that JP2 is a technically superior film but I'm still not sure which one I actually like the most between it and III.

The toes are painted on the BD and D-A-S Stiggy as well as it looks like more detail then the AP one.
Plus they have DAS blue/yellow raptor and that is the same as BD Blue minus the damage and paint.

I've seen the JWFK plushies pop up in TRU here in Canada, the assortment seems to be Stiggy, T-Rex, Stegosaurus, and Pteranodon. The Stiggy and Stego are adorable.

I wish some wave 2 stuff would show up, or that any of the freaking Walmarts up in my area would restock something, IDK if its not being restocked due to stores taking inventory, or if they are waiting for wave 2 to arrive, but I haven't seen any JW restocks in any Walmarts near me since the initial release of merch. I managed to pickup BD Stiggy, Hererra and Pachy, but passed on Blue and Trike at the time and the pegs for BD dinos have been bare for weeks now.

Also due to Targets not existing in Canada anymore I can't get any of the Legacy stuff.

Definitely better likeness, as far as screen accuracy they're all pretty equal (except the one from the story two-pack with Owen, that one uses the jumping raptor body that's based on the JP3 raptor with the snout ridges).

As far as best articulation so far, the battle-damage one is the best so far. If you're in the US, it's Walmart exclusive.
