Outside of the new unmasked head, is there any real difference in the new Ant Man movie figure and the old one from the previous movie line? I never saw movie Scott at retail once when the original Ant Man wave came out, but he's been all over the place with the newest movie wave.

He's basically Punisher if Punisher didn't spend his days fucking around in one place just killing mobsters.

He's also canon-wise, Punisher 2099's grandfather.

He was a cool character with a cool visual and deserves far better than he got. Hell, they should have made Not-Nuke Americop, since they then could have used him in Jessica Jones to set up the Slaver arc (since Americop's first storyline involved him going after slavers who were kidnapping kids for Baron Zemo).

The old one’s helmet was based off of preproduction designs, so it had an open mouth. The black plastic was extra gummy too so the old one fell over really easily.

Hmm. Ragnarok Loki is kind of weird. He's a good height, has all the right colors, and the removable helmet thing functions pretty well.

I sadly think I have more negatives than positives to say. The hands are kind of freakishly big, and the face seems kind of squished. The cape is also prone to falling out of the tiny shoulder pegs...

But on the plus side, it certainly looks better than the other MCU Loki, and if you keep the helmet on his face looks fine. It's without it that it begins to feel kind of small. It's got a ludicrous range of movement, too. The ab crunch is insane, maybe even TOO good, honestly.
It's far from a bad figure, and he looks great just standing there, if that's all you want of him.

I think he's pretty good. His likeness is up there, his guns are actual guns, and his jacket is nice and new. My only gripes are his torso, legs, and arms.
His torso is small and the way they did the ab crunch doesn't give him much and looks too segmented. His legs also look really rough when he bends them. No double jointed elbows make using his gun a bit hard, but I think it would've compromised the overall look of his arms too much.
General gripes are that his hands don't hinge up and down to actually use a gun and that his ankle pivot is awkward, but that's to be expected.

Mine was at a Barnes and Nobles, I'm in far west Texas if it helps. Worth noting they also had Vintage Wolverine and Ghost Rider w/ Bike for a really long time, Ghost Rider is even still there and Wolverine only sold not too long ago. I waited a good two weeks before caving on the repainted Cap, so I guess Barnes and Noble isn't where most people go to look for ML

I like it alot, and I'm pretty picky with Marvel Legends.
I love how much range his elbows get despite it being single jointed, and how it just works into the curves of his jacket.

I wish his pants and shoes werent so glossy though.

I like the Mk.VII armor, but man, even after all their improvements recently, Hasbro still isn't so good at making Iron Man suits look good. It still looks kinda mushy and cheapo. I don't even know what to suggest to improve here--a glossier finish, tighter details? The helmet and chestplate look great, his his legs are still weirdly awkward and stumpy and remind me of 80s/90s GI Joe legs. They look too short on him, really, and his feet look too small. I was hoping this was just an illusion in the early promo shots, but it turns out his proportions really are that bad. Bummer.

The problem is that Hasbro isnt using paint and that's mostly just colored plastic mixed with metallic bits to make it look somewhat metallic. This causes the overall mushy appearance, as the light is diffused and scattered across the surface. So the molded pieces may be sharp enough to cut your neckbeard, but the plastic, lighting, and camera washes away the detail.

Hasbro used to do a far better job before.

The gauntlet on the ML definitely looks better, though, and isn't a manlet like the SHF.

Head to head the SHF is better, but I don't like the color of the SHF (I'm pretty color blind though). For value I'd give it to the ML since it has a pretty good new Dr. Strange. If the IM had some new nanotech parts it'd be an A+ set.

This looks nice and would work well with my other MLs though I still prefer the proportions on the SHF which look to be closer to Thanos's physique in the actual movie. I just hope you can easily swap it with the fist hand from the BAF.

You can probably still swap the arms at the shoulder, but it looks like they changed him to the right shade of pink so then you have color matching problems.

Yeah I still had a few Ants and Yellow DD floating around too, and some of the Sasquatch wave ones had show up at a couple stores. But that damn Punisher was just everywhere.

Oh man. All these ML waves are killing my wallet. I can safely say though I think I got or pre ordered every figure from these next 5 waves I wanted. I was even able to score SP//DR from Dorkside for $50. Saved me from having to buy the whole wave when I only want like 2 figures from it plus the BaF. They just need to drop a pre order for the Iron Man Mk 1/Tony Stark 2 pack. Other than that I just need to track down The Thing and the Luke Cage 2 pack when those come out. Feels good to not have to worry about tracking down Legends since they decided to release so many waves at once.

I think BAF Stilt Man is an idea with some potential. SM has one set of legs, so he's 2x the size of everyone else. Everyone else in the wave has another set of extensions, plus you can army build Guardsmen, HFC Guards, and Scourges for even more legs. Rache wipes out HFC Guards by the squad, Force Works US Agent fights Scourges trying to kill Stiltman, with Guardsmen to haul them away.

I think the last regular wave we had here was Avengers Wave 1. I found one Black Widow at a Wal-Greens and I've seen bits of the Deadpool wave. Before Infinity War 1 we missed a few waves and now it seems like there's 4 waves beyond showing up.

I don't even know what's going on anymore with distribution. Transformers and Black Series are in the same shitty boat it seems. I occasionally look at DC Multiverse and it seems to be worse.

If it's not you, then it's already started to spread and that's going to be a whole new trend of shitposting stinking up the board...
To be a bit more on-topic/useful, I don't think Hasbro will go into Premium or more "Japanese-styled" figure making. The model and heavy body reuse they have going on now seems to be very profitable for them and lets them crank out figures at a rate that's even starting to become a problem, given anons' issues with keeping up with all these waves coming at once and apparently earlier than anticipated
Changing to a Premium figure model would drive up costs but not necessarily guarantee returns, while also closing off a large part of their market/audience. I mean, as much as I love Marvel Legends, one of its major appeals is how dirt-cheap they can get and that attracts a lot of clientele
Also the entire wave and BAF model would have to go out the window for a lot of reasons too. Nobody would even buy a complete wave with each figure priced at 60$+

Pretty common defense, which is a laugh at that illusion of cost.
They basically buy into it like people buy into informercial products believing they're getting such a great value despite the low quality of the product.

A false belief that features like no-visible pegs for joints is a costly feature despite the fact that other American lines have used them without costing more than an ML.
Or the belief that face printing is another high quality expensive feature despite the fact that companies like Mattel and Hasbro had used this technique since the 00s (but not for faces, because it's ugly).

Nevermind that pre-2012 there used to be far more foreigners bitching when costs did go up in their worthless countries.
Lots and lots of crying.

The added texture is a nice touch, but surprisingly, the deco on the regular ML is actually more accurate. Still, it's easy to just treat the new figure as the final battle version with the charged up look. Definitely excited for the unmasked head though.

Rogue, Iceman, and Jean in one wave, then Cyclops, and then Cable and Deadpool, and now Wolverine, Psylocke and Bishop on the way. And the villains are neat too. Honestly I’d recommend X-Men as a gateway for noobs to Marvel Legends since they’re so spaced out. I guess this isn’t a pic of my display but hopefully this response gets you hooked anyway

I personally love the select. The only other one that compares is the BaF one from a couple years ago. I would say the select is much more solid and has decent articulation at least I have no problem getting him into running poses. The BaF is not as well built imo but definitely more posable. For 22 bucks you are definitely getting your moneys worth in plastic he is fairly heavy and definitely a big guy.
